I started doing Tijuana about 25 years ago but I haven't been since around 2006. I'm worried I'll get popped in some cartel war or something like that. I was going to head down this summer but the casino incident has me thinking there isn't anywhere safe anymore. Thoughts?

Tijuana is just like any place any where in this small world of ours including our own back yard. If you go looking for trouble you will find it. Be respectful to everyone; stay in the tourist monger areas and don't wonder off into dark alleys. I was there last night until 2AM.
In the early evening club Hong kong was busy and Adelitas was not. How does Chicago club manage to stay open? This place was as dead as I have ever seen it. Three girls and three customers at 10PM. Adelitas was busy around mid nite and I did notice a couple long time Adelitas girls now working in HK. They both told me that Adelitas is not as busy anymore so they moved.
I'm thinking about getting an apartment in Tijuana. Any advice from you well knowledge Tijuana mongers about apartments?

I was there last weekend. I was by myself and in the Zona from after 6pm until past 5am in the morning. I hit the major bars and also went into one of the small ones. No problems with anyone except for a scammer mesero at the Hacienda place around the corner from Adelita's who took a little while with my change and I think tried to get the girl a drink when I didn't order one.
I would try it on a Wednesday or Thursday night if possible. Less guys around. Go around nine, and if you cross back at like 1 am there won't be a bad line. Hong Kong has the biggest number of quality girls and then Adelita's is #2. You can probably find something decent at Chavelas. Last time I went to Chicago Club, it was pretty dead. I swear I saw the oldest hooker I've ever seen in the Zona there-must have been over 50 ugh.

Plus, Adelita's was catering to some motorcycle club so, the place was as packed as I remember before HK got so popular. This is the last time I go to T. J. On a weekend night during the summer period. So many caliente ladies on the alley street wall and inside the clubs. I'll stick to week days and nights. I drove back across about 11:30PM with very little wait.

But, specifically talking about SENTRI, my very good friend quite honestly got in the SENTRI vehicle line by mistake. The guy at the booth gave her the what for. Told her that her license plate was now recorded and if she tried to cross through SENTRI again without being registered with the program she would get in some sort of serious trouble. It was a while ago and I can't remember what trouble he specifically told her would befall her.
So, I guess dealing with ICE is like dealing with putas: YMMV.

I have not been told to not line up in the Sentri line without a Sentri card. I have done this walking and driving across. However, I have noticed this trend if I'm driving across: If I get an Asian officer I get no hassles what so ever. The only question they ask is if I have anything to declare or what was I doing in Mexico. If I get a Caucasian officer like last night I get the entire third degree. Last night I was asked all questions in Spanish. Even after I answered in English and told him I understood English. Questions I was asked last night: I was driving my 2004 Toyota Tacoma.
