However for me, especially if I am out Mongering, I think I will just simply cooperate. I don't have the time, patience or funds to go through the insane court process. In my case, the officer lied on many points, and it was obvious to the court because his lies were not fully corroborated by his partner or even himself under further questioning. The burden of proof was on the officer to show that he had reasonable suspicion that I was committing a crime. Without that proof, there was no cause to stop me or search me, and any evidence obtained after that was tainted.

The point is that if you choose not to exercise your rights, they will certainly be trampled upon. It is our civic duty to ensure that government and public servants do not violate the law, especially our Constitutional Rights.[/QUOTE].

Guys, please, PLEEEEEASE! Keep in mind that what we consider a "hobby" in reality can be considered criminal activity.

Conspiracy is a very long, tedious, and expensive charge to bring, investigate, and prove. Yet possibly could be applied to this very type of forum.

Should a crime of some sort take place that would necessitate the bringing of a warrant during the investigation.

The very act of offering advice / tips to circumvent the performance of a LEO's job, as well as asking for, and providing information.

To aid in the commission of a crime is. In fact. Conspiratorial!

Just recently a post by DiverDown6969 describing the stalking of, and conspiracy to cause harm to another.

Could have resulted in just this type of warrant. It would have started with Clist, then moved on to CPD's, and, certainly the federal cyber division.

To search for any mention of specific words in the posting, it's replies. Etc, and the next thing you know. Badda Bing Badda Boom.

We may all get to meet face to face.

That being said, my advice is to have your back story ready, what your destination is etc. And rehearsed, should you be stopped. Cooperate to the point of identifying yourself.

Whether verbally or providing physical proof. At this point, and ONLY at this point ask if there is something specific you have done to warrant being stopped.

So, make sure your vehicle is in compliance, your tags, and I'd are current, registration, and proof of insurance is in tact.

Be sure that there is ZERO contraband in, or on your person, and vehicle.

OH. And if you exit your vehicle during this encounter. LOCK IT! Keep keys in your hand, so that you are not "reaching" for anything.

Searching a locked vehicle without permission requires waaayyyy more hassle, and time for the LEO's than they want to spend on a solicitation suspicion.

If you open the door and they observe criminal activity, someone in need or safety issues then they can enter without permission. Just opening the door doesn't allow them to enter. I will agree though its best to just not answer the door.

We just had a case like this where they entered a hotel room w / o a warrant or probable cause and the judge threw out everything in the room as tainted.

Can't give specifics of the case but in general LEO was looking for a male, thought he was in the room, knocked and when a female answered they pushed their way in and searched the room. They had specific information that the subject was there and in general they should not have entered the room but even if entering for a protective sweep after they pulled the female out, they looked in the bathroom, closet and under the beds and found nothing, then started going through desk and lifted the mattresses where they did find drugs. They could not give any reason why they had to lift the mattress or open the desk because they were looking for male subject and once it was determined he was not there and the protective sweep completed they should have exited the room as the female did not give any permission to search it.
