The police have caught a lot of people this way that had bench warrants on them. Some states have "stop and identify" laws, but KY is not one of them. Honestly, if you know there's a warrant out for you and you're a passenger, I don't see any benefit to handing over your papers.

24 states including Indiana have stop and identify statutes that authorize cops to legally obtain the identification of anyone whom they reasonably suspect of having committed a crime, is commiting a crime or is about to commit a crime. By that I guess a person is not allowed to even think about it. Just another bullshit way cops in certain states can legally hassle folks. Kentucky does not have a stop and identify statute.

Make sure you pay cash only or if your going to use a cash card or preloaded gift card, you make sure you pay cash only for those if your going use them to purchase the burn phone or phones with sim card. A monger mentioned a 1000 text refill for $5. They can be elusive but I finally found one at a Wal Mart near a college, which kind of makes sense. I more recently found one at a Family Dollar store. It has 2 bar codes. A $10 for data and a $5 for text. You tell the cashier which one you want to use and the PIN prints on the receipt. Best part is, there is no expiration date. I think photos use up the allotment quicker.
