A subject of late seems to be preserving our pay for play identity.
This is something that happened to me yesterday and should be a concern of all. I don't know how it happened so I don't know how to prevent it from happening in the future. I seemed to have dodged a bullet this time as a matter of happenstance.
I associated various avatars with my login on some of the pay for play message boards I joined over the years. Some of the avatars I used were obvious and not appropriate for a civie email account. Yesterday I upgraded my primary civie email account which did not have an avatar. The moment I clicked upgrade I was surprised to see the upgrade added one of my avatars on its own. Fortunately the avatar it selected was one of my more benign avatars. I'm quite happy with it actually but the thought of it automatically happening again is frightening since the system could have picked one that was more telling and not appropriate for a civie email account.
Now I'm trying to figure out where those avatars are resident on my computer so I can delete the more obvious ones. I know little how computers work.
