I think anyone engaged in this hobby needs to have a fair level of OpSec. But everyone has their own level of risk tolerance and accepts the consequences for doing or not doing what they can.

Look, I can recite numerous examples of issues that I have seen IRL. If those examples are not enough, and one wants to rationalize them away, then one takes the risk knowingly and has to be man enough to accept the responsibility.

First, there was a good monger here that was married. We would chat periodically, but at times his cell would drop on tower exchange. He just had GV layered on his IRL cell phone. When he returned the call, several times it came through as not the GV number but his IRL number. (so technology failed at times, go figure!) Apparently that happened several times with providers as one day a provider called the IRL number and the SO answered. Doesn't have to be a wife or a SO, how about a kid or other relative? Employer? Employee? Buddy?

The second thing I'll point out is that there was a group called "Exposing Johns" (google it) out of India that set up a highly searchable website and posted fake, but enticing adverts on the normal escort websites. Dudes responded. Then they (EJ) posted the offers for sex & money on the website and one could "find" guys using the IRL phone numbers. One never knows what is the next kinda scam that will pop up out there? Nice thing about burner phones is that when sh*t happens, you ditch the phone in some body of water and start over. Not something one wants to do with a $1 K phone.

Third, reading the SB threads from time to time one comes across a girl who finds a dude IRL and threatens to expose them to family friends, SM, LinkedIn, etc. Basically comes down to extortion, but hey it's easier money than selling content or deposits, etc. A good reputation is hard to come by, but a bad reputation is hard to live down.

Fourth, there was a dude here (Ralph), who was getting info on a court date for a pimp, from another monger. Turns out Ralph's posts were of interest to our buddies and they came looking for him. Sadly the other monger got fingered, but because of all of that "stuff" it was difficult or impossible for Ralph to be found. You want a bunch of "buddies" showing up at your house making a scene, work place, church, social club or wherever will cause the most public spectacle? It doesn't take much for an normal 'date' to get misinterpreted as "trafficking" or spun as to appear under-aged and THAT is something one doesn't want to to hafta try to defend against!

I get there is comfort in ignorance and misery loves company. People ignore risks all of the time. Shoot there were numerous reports of webcams in rooms, on these threads, where there were dates. THAT info was posted on these threads, yet MANY dudes ignored the warnings, as it couldn't happen or wasn't true or whatever. Now their naked azzes are on video in the hands of our national buddies. Wonder if that evidence is searchable by spouses in a divorce proceeding? Human nature often ignores risks it doesn't understand or thinks won't happen.

I mean it comes down to safety, security & privacy. Each dude has their own level of risk tolerance. Each dude evaluates risk differently through a detailed "what if" look-see or through ignorance or ignoring risks. All of those approaches are valid, everyone is free to make mistakes. Just because one hasn't thought of a risk doesn't mean it isn't out there nor that it should be ignored.

I can cite example after example, but most likely one is going to rationalize away everyone of them as they "don't apply to me." Sounds like you have already made up your mind, so do what ever you want. Just don't be surprised if some day it bites you in the azz. imho EVERY monger should have a high level of OpSec. Just saying.

[/QUOTE]After second thought, I think the prior post does a disservice as most will look at the examples and decide "those don't apply to me," "those things will never happen" or whatever to justify away the need for OpSec. So I'll propose a little test.

IF you think you are safe and don't need OpSec, then immediately go on all of your social media platforms and announce that you periodically engage prostitutes for sexual favors. If your life can survive that kind of being "out there" then you do not need any OpSec. However, if you are not willing to make such a public announcement, me thinks one needs OpSec.

If one thinks they are omnipotent enough to be able to guess, predict and analyze every possible scenario on "how" their mongering might get out into the wild, then they have extreme hubris or are fooling themself. Good luck with that!

Good time with her earlier today. Incall in newark. Safe area, and room was relatively clean.
