Lurkers vs. PLurkers vs. Karma
Nothing grinds my gears more than "no post lurkers" on here. They lurk around, some of them for years, reading & taking, but never giving. And then when there first post is asking for something?
Anyones first 5 to 10 posts should be giving something. Build up trust, then you can ask for something. It takes 20 posts & 6 months to become a Senior Member.
Generally, I agree with you Baldy. When it comes to high mileage, extras, requests for insider info, etc, then "Earn our trust" is the mantra.
But in this case, the guy was just asking for innocent info about no extras. Just where to find Asian dancers. It's innocent enough info, that I feel it is just community sharing. Not all of this community is hardcore mongers looking for where to get laid. For us softcore mongers, it is hard to get answers to the basic questions if we have to build up trust by sharing info. Because none of the info we would share is particularly valued on this board.
So I gave the guy a pass on this. I consider it an act of good karma. Maybe he will stick around and contribute. Maybe he will post a review of Knockouts. Maybe someone else will see that I tried to be helpful, and help me out when I need it. (As so many have in the past!)
I didn't think it was worth busting his balls over it, and although you apparently did, I think we just agree to disagree on this one.
