Roxy's. My first trip as a 20 yr old. Taken by my older brother & his friend, 1981. This is before the boom in video porn (VCR just beginning), and MTV. The strip club industry explodes in the mid '80 . Or maybe its because I'm of that age during this time (Paradise Club became Platinum Club) that was fun! This is pre internet age, so likely not on google. I never visited the "black" clubs in this city, but my co workers & others filled me in.

Centerville PTs was the 2nd place I attended in those early days. Later on Paradise II was behind it. Centerville had another place owned by Venezia right across the train tracks? I can recall the small PT's dance floor, behind the bar between two stages. This was for the SAT CPLS night (no upper private area / dance floor existed yet). Too many stories on this place.

Cmoes Key Club. Would eventually become Main Street. Wild memories.

The THINGS we did as younger men (I've no regrets). Fortunately no dangerous experiences for myself, but I heard of a few from dancers over time.

PTs and Penthouse. Sauget.

Dollies, Miss Kitties, Cmowes and others in Washington Park. I can't recall the name of the small club across the highway, down the road from the Correctional Facility.

Too many fun memories to post, and many strange viewings also over the decades. Seeing dancers drunk or coked up, etc. The drama at times. This is before reality TV.

Can anyone fill in the names of other clubs I missed from pre 1980 or years after?

She put her hand inside my pants and took hold of me, and literally led me to a guy that collected a $5 cover charge. She never let go of me while I was paying and she led me to the stage. On the way their I negotiated with her for a HJ from the stage for $20. She took care of me, and had I not been super horny I don't think I would have achieved blast off with people watching me from the other side of the room. Fortunately, I was the only one at the stage and it didn't take long. I miss those days.

All it cost me each time was weed and she was good to go for hours at my place. She was super high maintenance though, and after a while I just got tired of it. This was back in the days of pagers and if I didn't call her back in like 30 min of her paging me, she was busy for the night and who knows when I might hear from her again. But the sex was worth the pain in the ass. When I first met her she was 18 and had endless energy.

My understanding is the Chameleon Club started as a private club with girls available to keep you company. The original owner was hooked into Washington Park politics and owned a towing company that got all of the city's towing business. This is before my time, so I'm going on what others have told me over the years and some previous articles. The club was private and there wasn't topless striping but the girls would dance some. The guys bought the girls drinks and tipped them for their company. If you liked a girl enough you'd pay the bar a "towel fee" of like $25 and that got you a towel and entrance to the back room. The backroom had a hot tub, glass shower, and couches. You basically negotiated your deal with the girl and took her back there for the fun. I remember someone mentioning a bedroom off to the side being available as well and in later years I remember taking a girl into a side room. By the time I started stopping in at the club the front end was pretty run down and you basically paid the bar for some time in the backroom with a gal on a nasty old couch at the far end behind a screen. I remember late one night a dancer turned on the full lights in the back room and with the place lit up it was like we had stepped back in time. I don't know if it is true or not, but one older guy told me that back in the day it was fairly common for more than one paired up couple to be in the backroom at the same time. You could enjoy the hot job, play around with the girl, and use a small bar that was back there. I always wondered about the glass block shower. It was there in the backroom but not sure if girls used to put on shows in it or what. Or maybe you were suppose to shower before getting into the hot tub. I'm guessing they weren't all that worried about Legionnaire's disease or stuff like that back then.

Thank you all for the trip down memory lane. My first club experience was at Main Street when it was near the Congress Inn with Humphry behind the bar. Being Missouri it was a "bikini" club. A buddy took me to the Rose in ESL. That was a wild place in the mid 80's. FIV was normal. There was one girl offering samples of momma milk. They closed down after a shooting on the parking lot.

Was Paradise across the street from Roxy's? I was a fan of both.

My bachelor party was at the Red Garter. I never went to the upstairs or basement areas. I was young and broke.

The French Quarter was down the road from the prison. Hand job stage side was pretty normal. Eventually they lost their liquor license and then things got really wild. They burned down. I remember there being several houses with women hanging out on the porch as I drove there. I never stopped.

He insisted it was a private club so he did not need any, LOL. Back 20 years ago, I was a member of a "private club" strip club the Wildside Cabaret in Kenny, IL and at least they made everyone fill out a membership form in case they ever got investigated by the state. There were no membership forms or dues at the Chameleon LOL.

I'm sure he got away with it because of his connections. I can't remember his name right now but he did eventually get busted for being part of a drug ring. He'd also make money with his towing business since who is going to argue about towing and impound fees if you're from west St. Louis county and got your car towed while having fun on the Eastside.

They were big into shower dances. They had a woman that was about 7 foot tall and a girl under 5'0 that would perform together. 90% of the woman were attractive meaning. No over weight disfigured BS. I popped by after a Rams game with a couple friends and they couldn't believe it. I bagged two that night.

Been to Diamond recently, able to find good looking girl. I prefer suite, because you don't need to count the dances. She agreed to join private suite. Then I went and found the price, they said 225 for HH and 400 for H. Was very happy, then I went back to that girl for availability. Then she told me, Club takes most of it. I need to tip her 200 more to come in. Just for half hour, I left the club with huge disappointment.

I asked why she is asking extra. She told me she has * account and also StripChat account. She makes more money over there compared to this job. She just comes here to see and meet real people.

Thought of informing manager, why should I. Realized no use.

This past Friday around 4 pm ish I decided to venture into Dollies after about a 2 year break. First the positive (only 1). The remodeling actually looked nice and clean. Besides that it goes all down hill! LOL I remember a time when the selection was endless during the day. Guess those times are long gone! $5 cover charge the nice cute and short bartender tells me. While at the bar I notice 2 black ladies and 1 is talking with the only other customer in the building besides myself. Both cute but not that cute. One of the ladies approaches and standard hi and what's your name convo. She was nice but little too skinny for me. So after about 10 minutes I noticed no other girls coming out and I left. Maybe I should have stayed little longer, but the action was just not happening. Maybe its better to come later in the evening, but I prefer during the day. So probably won't be back for another 2 year. Well maybe 1 year. Or 6 months! LOL Be safe out there.

All right this is a couple weeks late bear with me.

Walked in for my first time back ever since the original closed the doors. It was just after they opened at noon, so I didn't expect it to be very busy. I was not surprised. Only one girl at the bar and no surprise who it was, Sofi. Still there after all these years and she actually did remember me name and all. Remodeling's okay I guess especially if the semi-private stalls from before freaked you out (I had no problem with it at all). But there is one thing that will probably deter future visits from me: the drink prices have gone insane. Not going to lie, the main reason I ever started going to Dolly's regularly was because of the low drink prices. Now the drink prices are the same as Scarlets. 12 freaking dollars for a mixed drink. I hate to point out the obvious but cheap drinks or what gets a guy drunk and makes the accountant in his head say fuck it and spend a lot of money. Insanely price drinks gets nobody drunk because the accountant in his head is freaking the fuck out at spending 24 bucks for just two drinks. It's like they don't understand the business model that made Dolly so Goddamn popular in the first fucking place.
