For anyone who is paranoid about how they might use your information to blackmail is justified but try to see it from another perspective. These agencies have hundreds of clients and potential new clients that they have to manage who bring in revenue. Everything they do is with a double edged sword so if they were use your information to do something, you can in turn report them. Would you risk your whole business which is quite profitable to do something to one person? It is more likely they are trying to protect their assets and acquire new legitimate clients who have a source of income.
I have yet to hear from anyone that their information was leaked to their employment or to anyone else that somehow ruined their life. If this has ever happened to anyone, please PM or post about it so we can all in turn report them. I have been sent IDs of guys multiple times, non-redacted. Typically they come through a girl, who got it from the booker. I assume it's rare for the I'd to come back and bite the guy in the ass and, if it does, it's probably due to misconduct on the part of the monger.
Just remember that, once you give the information out, you can't get it back.
There are ways to get screened and build up references without sharing the info still, but it takes time and $.
