Vietnamese Bars

I hit most of these that were mentioned tonight.

The karaoke ones weren't worth it at all. Nothing happening.

Saigon Passion was the best of the VB bars. At least they had stripping involved.

Other noteable mentions were NU and Exotic Nights.. neither of which were VB bars.. but good nontheless.

Unfortunatly in one of the Karaoke bars I met a Korean girl.. immediately told me to buy her a drink.. and I said not yet.. just got in.. then i asked her if she spoke korean in korean.. she said 'no, i don't'.. then tried to get me to a table again real quick.. i told her 'hold on'.. and then she shooshed me out of the bar.

I lived in Korea for 5 years teaching english.. uggh.. koreans.. give me a vietnamese girl ANYDAY!

Checked in at around 10:30,place was slow as usual.Ordered my drink,sat down and played video games. Was hoping to see and maybe sit with Lisa,but I didn't see her. I was supposed to take this girl to the building on King st. across from Iolani palace,to get her record cleared. She told me when she was working at another bar she got busted by the cops and was on some kind of probation period for 1 1/2 years. So now that its over she wants me to take her down so she can clear name and apply to become a citizen. Anybody know which specific office to go to do do this?

Anybody know which specific office to go to do do this?[/QUOTE]I think it is in the court if she was to get her record expunged after the the probation, you can check also if she had a probation officer, or if she had to report in at some point during here probation.I am thinking that these come under the Department of Safety or the Adult Client Services Hopefully when she got probation they said her record would be cleared. Jack,

It's the Records division for the Department of Criminal Justice or something like that. Same place you would go for fingerprinting(other than when you are being put into the system for an arrest). If it is the same as a year or so ago, you enter from the King street side and it should be the room to your immediate left. She probably has to file an application to get her record expunged and will most likely have to wait another few months before it the records are destroyed.

I asked her what happened and she told me the cops raided the bar and arrested all the girls inside(including her). I asked her if she got busted inside the private room or if she was doing anything illegal. She said that she was arrested just for being there on that night,even though she said she didn't do anything wrong.

That sounds fishy. When there were raids at other bars (Korean) the cops only arrest the girls that were doing illegal activities, they do not arrrest all the girls in the bar.
If you want the real story give me her name, I have friends (wg) working in the bars that will give me the details.

In a DAG/DANC, the defendant is on probation for a limited period of time (typically 6 mos.-1 yr.), and at the end of the period if the defendant has not further violations, the charge is dismissed. One year after the dismissal, they can apply to expunge the record.

As such, I would suspect that the woman in question probably had a DAG/DANC, as it is fairly common. In a practical sense, this doesn't make her "innocent" -- but rather that she received a free pass for her first criminal charge.
