Some of them had to check out and I can't answer for what.

This is not Nazi Germany and its not "show me your papers".

This authorizes police to legally obtain the identification of someone whom they reasonably suspect has committed a crime. If the person is not reasonably suspected of committing a crime, they are not required to provide identification. If you are in a known area of prostitution or drug dealing, then you should produce I'd. Why wouldn't you? Who wants to waste time and money in court? Chances are if you have no warrants, aren't holding or have your dick hanging out, you are good to go. It is just a hassle. The cops can make up reasons all day to ask for I'd. Better to always cooperate, be polite, answer yes and no only, provide no more information than required and move on. They will then move on to some one who wants to rock the boat, and have fun with them.

This law outlines your legal responsibility to identify yourself aka "Stop and Identify. " The law is pretty straight forward. You are only required to verbally (no picture ID is needed) identify yourself (name, address and date of birth) IF 1. You're suspected of a crime. 2. (a) Are witness to: a VIOLENT FELONY, (b) a FELONY that could have or did result in physical harm to a person or damage to property, or (c) a conspiracy / attempt to commit either (a) or (b).
That's it, you only have to tell them your name, address and date of birth if you're a suspect in the crime or witness to a violent felony or conspiracy. The best part is that part (c) explicitly states that not providing these details when the requirement is not met is not an arrestable offense AND you are not required to provide details about what you witnessed.
I am loving how so many on this board think they have "rights" and the police can't do this and they can't do this. WAKE UP! They are doing whatever the f they want day in and day out. The Patriot Act eroded so many of our rights it is not even funny. Our Police more and more dress like the Military and they act like it. Hell in some instance they even drive vehicles like it. This whole idea that somehow you will have your day in court if you don't produce I'd when asked is total BS. You will get your day in court and you will be treated like a common criminal the entire way through. The Justice system is not here to protect the innocent. Don't be fooled by all the swaggering answers on this board as to what to do if the Police approach you about being a monger. Mongering is not a capital crime. Unless you get caught for soliciting, you are not getting a ticket or going to jail, so just chill. Give them what they want and go on. Don't cooperate and they will heap it on you. Most of you could not handle jail, me included. If they don't have probable cause, then they will make it up. Happens time and time again. Or they might shoot you. That happens too.
Bottom line. Don't be John Wayne. You are just a monger. You are not a big fish to the cops. Outside of Human Trafficking, Prostitution is just petty stuff.

I witnessed those cops stop a guy and harrass him after he came out of a room. If you want to believe that CPD doesn't troll certain motels then you are free to do so. The have have set up stings at many motels in the past, even shut some down. Speaking of facts, where exactly are yours geezer? A police officer once interrupted my free movement. I asked why he did so and he responded by asking if I wanted to show him my driver's license. I declined and asked him again why he stopped me. He got insulted by my questions and detained me, searched me, and subsequently placed me under arrest. Since I knew he had no reason for even stopping me, I knew that I did not have to identify myself. Every subsequent action taken by the officer was illegal. I had multiple days in court which culminated in all criminal charges being dropped, and a lawsuit against the officer and the city for violation of my rights under the United States Constitution, Amendment IV, which states:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
After my lawsuit and others, the United States Justice Department ruled that there was a pattern of civil rights violations by the CPD, so they were fined and placed on probation.
In my case, the officer lied on many points, and it was obvious to the court because his lies were not fully corroborated by his partner or even himself under further questioning. The burden of proof was on the officer to show that he had reasonable suspicion that I was committing a crime. Without that proof, there was no cause to stop me or search me, and any evidence obtained after that was tainted.
The point is that if you choose not to exercise your rights, they will certainly be trampled upon. It is our civic duty to ensure that government and public servants do not violate the law, especially our Constitutional Rights.

(A) No person who is in a public place shall refuse to disclose the person's name, address, or date of birth, when requested by a law enforcement officer who reasonably suspects either of the following:
(1) The person is committing, has committed, or is about to commit a criminal offense.
(2) The person witnessed any of the following:
(a) An offense of violence that would constitute a felony under the laws of this state;.
(b) A felony offense that causes or results in, or creates a substantial risk of, serious physical harm to another person or to property;.
(c) Any attempt or conspiracy to commit, or complicity in committing, any offense identified in division (A)(2)(a) or (b) of this section;.
(d) Any conduct reasonably indicating that any offense identified in division (A)(2)(a) or (b) of this section or any attempt, conspiracy, or complicity described in division (A)(2)(c) of this section has been, is being, or is about to be committed.
(B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of failure to disclose one's personal information, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
(C) Nothing in this section requires a person to answer any questions beyond that person's name, address, or date of birth. Nothing in this section authorizes a law enforcement officer to arrest a person for not providing any information beyond that person's name, address, or date of birth or for refusing to describe the offense observed.
(D) It is not a violation of this section to refuse to answer a question that would reveal a person's age or date of birth if age is an element of the crime that the person is suspected of committing.
