A lot of postings so I'll through my 45 cents in. Not long ago, before Backpage, there were single girls or single moms (scale of 4 - 6) who needed some infant formula money so on Friday and Saturday nights they would hang out in the dark near bars or strip clubs to earn some cash. Not long ago, before Craigslist, there were attractive (scale of 7 -8) college girls who worked the strip club scene and you could talk one of them into going home with you after she called it quits for the night. Not long ago, before the smartphone, you could look in the classifieds and find high class escort agencies with hot girls (scale of 9 - 10) who looked great regardless of their age.

A BJ on the street use to be $20 and some backseat action would just be $40. These girls just needed some cash to cover the electric bill in the middle of the month or some extra food for the kids. Escorts were always more and the more exclusive she was to clients, then the more her asking price was. It use to be when a girl was high volume then her rate was a lot lower, when compared to a girl who was low volume and catered to white collar businessmen. When the internet came along everybody thought they were a star since they could advertise for themselves online. The rates have doubled and tripled simply because the average streetwalker now has a motel room and books appointments like an escort girl use to do. In her mind she is now worth more simply because of how she now conducts her "work" and not based on her looks or the quality of her services. Privacy was lost with the internet and many girls who once operated in the shadow of their family's knowledge now decided to post fake pictures, but they use to be a fair representation. These days more and more girls post pictures that are not a fair representation of themselves. If the picture is real it was +20 pounds ago or before the drugs changed her look for the worse. Girls use to be a lot sweeter and a lot nicer in this line of work. The worst you would find was an occasionally 420 high or alcohol buzz. These days there are scams and attitudes with the sole purpose of just getting your money with no intent to provide a fair and equal service in return. These days with the drug epidemic of Heroin and Prescription meds have forced addicted girls to the streets. These drugs are not cheap and to support their highly addictive habit plus maintain some standard of living these types of girls have driven up the rates for everyone else because of their expensive self-destructing habit.

Times have changed; the quality is not what is use to be and the service you get in return is not what it use to be. These days girls live in denial and they all think they have a beautiful face, a hot body and their service is too die for. This is not the case and rates use to be scaled according to her looks, her body and her level of service, but not anymore since most of the girls think they are equal to the next girl. A streetwalker back in the day was an average girl who use to give good service with no attitude. She was very thankful that you gave her some business. Why can't we just have some average, nice girls who are not doing drugs and regardless of their look or body type just they provide a good service for the rate. The answer is "no" because these girls are greedy and live in a self-centered life where a honest service for a honest wage doesn't mean anything anymore. Girls with fake beauty (injected boobs, lips and ass with a chiseled nose and chin) is so not real either. A girl is a girl for her natural beauty, her smile, her carefree spirit, and her laughter. You just can't find many real girls these days who also want to show you a good time, for a fair rate, behind closed doors.

I try to work with clients who want to preserve their anonymity. If they have no references I ask if they have review history. If they have nothing to show me than I don't see them. This area has plenty of well to do residents and business travelers who are willing to pay more than $80 to have a good time and are willing to be screened.

It's pretty clear though that this group could care less. Considering someone's comment about them preferring a provider has a pimp than a screening process. It's also clear many don't understand how references work. They cannot be easily fabricated as some would claim. There is a news story about a woman in Long Island who was bludgeoned with a hammer and died after demanding payment from a client with a violent criminal history. The woman most likely didn't screen. That's just good business sense. If you start charging the same as one of these girls and offer crap like QVs your business plummets and you end up seeing bad clients for less money (yes there is a correlation between rates and quality of client). Though I think your nostalgia for the olden days is a bit misguided (keep in mind inflation and the rising cost of living in the RDU area) there is no doubt this work is being looked at as a quick fix for anything with the ease of posting an ad and pictures behind closed doors. There are many who should not be involved in this business at all. Reviews pressure women to get plastic surgery in order to be able to charge more so there's that. It's not as if what we do is some kind of hobby for most of us. Like anyone else we want to raise our income potential as well.

I understand good business and it makes since for you to separate yourself if your services are better, but from the customer standpoint he is getting screwed on both levels. Bad clients can come from all economic walks of life, but I agree that the odds are less likely if the rate reaches a certain amount. A QV doesn't lower your standard it just limits the available options while still scratching the clients itch and wetting his appetite for a longer future visit with more options. A QV is a stick and go or a blow and go and at 60 - 100 for 10 -15 minutes is not a bad option for any girl, especially if its an established client. True there are many who shouldn't be in the business, but there are clients who don't have much pocket change so girls who are not ideal still fill a role for those clients. Reviews might put some pressure on a few girls who are vain but the majority reviews talk about service and attitude. Looking like a real life Barbie Doll does appeal to some guys, but most guys just want the "girl next door" feel because that's reality for most people. If a girl would lose some weight, bath, smell fresh, have a good attitude and improve her skills then most clients would be satisfied. For those clients who only want a model type girl well the rate does go up, but how often do these type girls offer excellent service? Not many, because they solely rely on their looks and that only goes but so far. Burnout is real in this profession which is why I think as you said many age quicker and go on to lead unhealthy lifestyles. Also the more clients you see the more likely you are to have something bad happen to you like being robbed or beaten or catching an STD. I like sticking to mostly regulars and add in a few new clients every month and it works pretty well for me.

I agree it's important to have a plan afterwards. Luckily I have a free ride to college whenever I choose to go. We all have a shelf life and this profession has many of us leading double lives which can be stressful and exhausting. I think women who get plastic surgery see it as an investment because they can charge higher rates and work less. Thus reducing the stress. I'm not saying I agree with it but my friends who charge over $500 an hour have gotten some kind of work done.

I don't have friends in this profession which are in the area. They also charge a lot more than me so it's not like we are competing for the same clients either way. Jealousy among providers is stupid considering we all have something different to offer.
