I'm not trying to start any kind of war here at all BUT so much of what the "prodigious newbie" rant was just flat out WRONG that I'd feel bad if others took what was stated as being gospel when it's NOT.

First of all, out on the streets your "rights" mean jackshit and the officer can be 100% in the wrong and you can be 100% correct BUT he can still stop you at any time he wants to, he can search you and your vehicle, he can detain you and yes you may be able to get all the charges dropped later on BUT this will not only take time but it will cost money (bail, lawyer, missed work etc) AND since the charges are public record they will NOT go away and if they choose to do so they can even embarrass you by putting you on the news or in the paper as well. Not to mention that LEO can detain you for 24 hrs for no reason at all and it's completely LEGAL.

Secondly, an undercover LEO will not get in your car at all EVER but they have been known to have OTHER UNDERCOVERS pick up and drop off etc to make her look legit and then you fall for the legit looking bait. They can also "roll over" a known SW by having her being a cooperating CI etc and she can get in your car, go thru with the act AND THEN testify against you as well.

As for your assertion that it's NOT illegal to drive around? All they have to say is that they saw you loitering in a known area for drugs / SW's etc and it's LEGAL to pop you.

You claim that you have to be an idiot to get pinched?? BULLSHIT, I never have (knock on wood) but I also know numerous guys who have been and THEY'RE not idiots at all.

You claim you can hit the stroll all day long with impugnity? More utter BS and you also claim it's better looking SW's during the day? To illustrate my point that only idiots get pinched. Next time you read the police log and see the prostitution stings, what do all the mongers who get busted have in common? They ALL propositioned an undercover decoy. If she doesn't get in right away she could be nervous very likely she is a decoy. I had this happen to me over the summer, this cute Hispanic chick around late 20's comes to my passenger door and instead of getting in she tells me to roll the window down, I do, she's like "What's up, what you looking for"? Without flinching I say "sorry, you look like a friend of mine" and drive off.

As soon as she gets in, proposition away! This is why I find the streets the SAFEST place to monger! I know, it sounds crazy but hear me out: You're in your vehicle and you control where you go, where you stop etc. Plus the HUGE advantage of knowing that once she gets in you are NOT dealing with LEO. As opposed to answering a BP ad, good luck with that! Ever hear of Russian Roulette? LEO is constantly trolling, placing fake ads etc., when you arrive at the outcall location as soon as $ comes out the door breaks in and you're on your belly. CL? Too much work and spam to fish through for my tastes and you have the same issue with not being on your own turf.

In summation, if you understand how LEO operates to pinch mongers then you are already one step ahead, never proposition through the window, and if you have a secure location then the streets are the safest and most economical place to monger, I also relish the 'hunt' and those UTR / civi gems!

She could have just closed the door without getting in, and she was clear about it being a date, not a ride or some other excuse. Because of that I said an overt "No." and left. There was some sort of undercover operation going on that day and I was blantently cruising after the operation had ended seeing who was out for talent. I'm sure I was being obvious, and with all those factors didn't want to take the chance.

I agree, I've had BP girls but only the ones vetted here, or ones that are willing to meet at a neutral location (most not willing and the $ is way higher than my regs) I was talking about the numerous posts that are random and new on a daily / weekly basis. Here are the rules. But these are the facts and if you are polite but firm you will probably drive away with just a good amount of general harassment and one or two hundred in trumped up traffic fines. Of course beating the fines in traffic court would cost several thousand in legal fees so like everybody you are going to do one of two things.

1. Just pay the fines.

2. Go to court plead your case and then pay the fines plus court costs.

Of course you could appeal to district court but parting with the hundred or two hundred bucks is so much easier.

I get it. I was speaking pragmatically, the cops have done what my adversaries have stated; it doesn't make it legal. In fact it's very rare, just read the police logs, every person pinched for pandering / mongering / propping-a-ho etc. Was pinched by a decoy. My advice was valuable, but hah needed to be Alpha Monger, the thread was in the SW section. Until you flapped your dentures. That post was more valuable in that section, hah, I've read your posts, I don't dispute your mongering, but you tend to underestimate new members of this board, which is a huge character flaw. There was some good back and forth exchange of facts and opinions about getting pulled over while playing with SW's and the exchange was all pretty civil. Keep in mind that an arrest is like being indicted, everybody knows about it and nobody cares of the outcome, so, even if you get it dismissed, "they" always know what you got busted for. So all this "I know my rights " stuff may be real and true, but the stigma of being busted is very real. Plus if you have a job that requires bonding or a security clearance, you could lose it and then your job.

I don't want to add to the fire here, but often guys forget this stuff is illegal because so many guys swap stories and adventures that it all SEEMS so easy, available and fun. You need to consider the risk (s) and how it can affect your real life.

A federal court in Boston a few years back ruled the police can't stop you videoing them for your own protection and it may well prove to be the best protection against police misconduct you have.
