I've been almost completely disengaged from the scene on Aurora lately. I've taken a lot of time to hang-out with friends and do social more things again. We (people in that area) adamantly said that this was way too suspicious, there are these random dead women and their bodies are discovered dumped in weird spots and there were no clues to who did it. King County also released a statement saying they were not investigating a serial killer, but just about all of us knew that someone was out there killing people. According to the timestamps on the individual arrests in the data, the vast majority of arrests seem to occur between 5 pm-9 pm. There are some isolated records with a timestamp of midnight, but those are limited, and all of those took place around 137th. So, arrests for patronizing / sexual exploitation do happen outside of the normal commute times but they are rare. When I consulted a lawyer a few months ago, he told me that SPD are generally "sloppy" about their stings, they set them up quickly and net as many guys as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. They get things wrong from time to time because, as he said, they generally have a careless attitude about it. I don't know what's true, just repeating what I was told. But it's important to note that SPD can change their tactics at any time, so although this data does, I think, provide good intel, they can suddenly switch it up. I think that when the motels were open and active it was easy for SPD to net a lot of arrests without having to do too much because people were generally careless about how they went about it out there. One thing the lawyer told me was that a lot of his clients actually believed that prostitution had been decriminalized because the cops didn't appear to be doing anything, so they approached any girl out there without any fear. Then, of course, they got popped. So, preaching to the choir here, always be as vigilant as possible.

This is why the KK does not show any arrests currently because they were all entered in the same lat and long in the data. I am using python and regular expressions to process all of this data. It's tricky.

I wonder what percentage of the arrests were sting operations. ? Using such a long time period is a bit misleading. It is important to remember that the city of Seattle did away with the loitering law several years ago. So it would be much to more accurate to show a map or statistics when the law was in effect. It is possible that LE has been arresting any guy that happens to stop for a decoy. This would be a good way for vice to bump up their numbers and look good. Hard to say since I do not live up there.

The last data file which I imported into my database was from September. In that file, there is an OFFENSE_PARENT_GROUP field for "prostitution offenses" and an OFFENSE field containing "purchasing prostitution". The other two are "assisting or promoting prostitution" and simply "prostitution". I focused on records for purchasing which contains records going back to late 2016. Of those, the vast majority of arrests are along Aurora Ave. There are a few records here and there for other areas of the city including International District, downtown and Capitol Hill, but we're talking less than a handful for each from late 2016 onward. Since that time the vast, vast majority of arrests for "purchasing prostitution" have been along Aurora Ave. Of those, most are at 125th which is the Lowe's lot. I don't think anyone is or ever was surprised by that. But, I will mention that this is a stale snapshot from September, it's entirely possible that other arrests for purchasing prostitution have been made in other parts of the city since then.

If going back to 2012, I know from personal anecdotal experience that there were other areas of the city which had strolls at that time. The AAA / Denny stroll being probably the most known and i'd argue was probably the busiest stroll on weekends around that time and was very similar to how Aurora Ave has been the past few years. But, one could find SWs in Pioneer Square, ID or Rainier Ave at that time as well. The AAA / Denny area was completely shut-down when Amazon started constructing their HQ in that area as well as a ton of new apartment buildings. The other areas seem to have fallen-off in activity as well due to gentrification or other growth to a point of insignificance. In July 2016 Seattle police set-up a 10-day sting operation at a massage parlor in the ID which netted about 200 johns. Those arrests pre-dated the records in my file.

But further, since as you mention, the prostitution loitering laws were repealed in 2020, I really focused from 2019 onward. In that time the vast majority of arrests are again along Aurora Ave and again around the Lowe's lot. I do also have a file containing data for King County arrests, but that actually seemed less complete and a cross-examination between the SPD data and King County data led me to believe it wasn't very reliable (SPD arrest records didn't seem to be in the King County file). I do not have the latest SPD files, though, so haven't examined them since. But I think that the major takeaway is that a focus for the city regarding patronizing / purchasing arrests is definitely Aurora Ave. And while I again don't think anyone was ever surprised by that, my goal was to find out [i]where[/i] and [i]when[/i] along Aurora men were mostly getting busted since that's where most of us in this forum seem to be cruising.

My streak of not being robbed ran out this morning. Last time I had been robbed before this was back this past summer. I rolled up on a BSW near the wall around 4 am. I definitely remember dropping a girl off at an apartment complex and picking up a girl at that bus stop but not anything else. I couldn't believe she remembered me LOL. There is another girl out there I did a date with 2 years ago and she still remembers me to this day. I talked to her a couple times in the last month while she was out there. She immediately said "what's this" while holding the two 20's and I said 40 bucks. She then tells me I told her "140" I was like no I didn't! Here we go again with this bait and switch. I got her to admit that she agreed to the 40 dollar offer after she slipped up after initially trying to tell me I said 140. She admitted that I told her 40! She then tried to switch it around on me and was like "I thought you would be a gentleman why would you lowball me like that?" I was like. You accepted!! You didn't have too. If you had asked for more I probably would have agreed but you didn't so WTF. I jumped in the front seat after some back and forth arguing that was going nowhere and she was like "oh wow so your getting violent?" I wasn't. But I was thinking this is a setup. I told her to get out a few times before she finally did and on her way out my car she was like "I'm calling the police" and in my head I'm thinking like WTF? What for you idiot. You just robbed me (for 40 bucks LOL) I didn't do nothing to you I didn't even touch you. She was probably just saying that cause she was now getting out of my car and I was pissed off and it was not right off AA and wanted to scare me away.

I need to check up on some things before posting anything about an incident that I saw earlier that morning near the emerald. It was kind of scary. It didn't look good. Not sure yet if what happened I think happened. Going to try and tie down some details first.

I was bored and wanted to figure out how many people have been arrested for pimping in Seattle. I found the King County jail dataset that the county publishes online. The current dataset has all the adult bookings from Dec 1, 2022 to Nov 30,2023. There have been 20 individuals arrested and booked for Promoting Prostitution (pimping) in the county in that time for a total of 47 promoting prostitution charges. Only 3 of those charges were for Promoting Prostitution in the 1st degree which is defined in the Revised Code of Washington as:

(1) A person is guilty of promoting prostitution in the first degree if he or she knowingly advances prostitution:

(a) By compelling a person by threat or force to engage in prostitution or profits from prostitution which results from such threat or force; or.

(b) By compelling a person with a mental incapacity or developmental disability that renders the person incapable of consent to engage in prostitution or profits from prostitution that results from such compulsion.

(2) Promoting prostitution in the first degree is a class B felony.

Which most likely means they were gorilla pimps and probably not the latter which is pimping some retarded girl LOL. All the other Promoting Prostitution charges were Promoting Prostitution in the 2nd degree which is defined in the Revised Code of Washington as:

(1) A person is guilty of promoting prostitution in the second degree if he or she knowingly:

(a) Profits from prostitution; or.

(b) Advances prostitution.

(2) Promoting prostitution in the second degree is a class C felony.

A good amount of them had other charges like communication with a minor for immoral purposes, rape of a child, commercial sex abuse of a minor etc added on to there charges. Two of these arrests were for a massage parlor in Burien. The other's don't appear to be related to massages with happy endings.

Another thing that is noteworthy is that there is not a single booking in the last 12 months for the time period in this dataset for solicitation of prostitution, purchasing prostitution etc or any variation of. What this means is that they aren't booking those arrested at those stings into a King County Jail. Probably just releasing them after processing them at a precinct or something or processing them nearby and releasing them. This dataset covers all adult jails run by King County which would be King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) in Seattle and the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in Kent.

My understanding is that when police are doing a larger-scale operation such as a sting they let the local jail know so that the jail staff can prepare for multiple intake bookings. For whatever reason it's apparently typical for the jail to push-back. In that case bookings are conducted at the local precincts instead of the jail. I was told that the precincts are trying to get away from fingerprinting however it still counts as an arrest. Also to add as a point of interest, in Washington State fingerprints are apparently not required for misdemeanors nor gross misdemeanors so the arrests typically don't show-up in the state WSP nor the federal NCIC databases. Consult a lawyer on that to be sure, but that's my understanding.

It would interesting to see what percentage were guys that were arrested. Especially after the city did away with the loitering law. The police usually arrest guy's that just happen to be driving home and stop for decoy SW. It is fairly easy to spot a sting especially if you stop and observe from a discreet distance. Cops also arrest a lot of girls of course.

As far as the arrest records go it'll definitely show up in the state databases. Every cop that runs your tag will see that you were arrested for solicitation until it's either expunged or sealed. As far as NCIC goes my understanding is that most misdemeanors don't get put into.

When I did my analysis between 2019-2023 (August / September), I found that the highest number of arrests for purchasing actually occurred in 2019, something like 89 total arrests. Most of those were on Aurora. Interestingly the number of arrests for purchasing actually decreased for 2020,2021 and 2022, something like 25 arrests for each year. That number increased in 2023 and I'm going to assume it's because business owners along Aurora banded together and started meeting with the Captain of the North Precinct. I also know that residents also started to complain to the city. Stings, or at least mass-arrests for purchasing, appear to have stopped after the city issued nuisance orders to the motels and street activity appeared to drop-off a bit. Regarding arrests for SWs (solicitation), the Seattle City Attorney's Office has stated that they won't prosecute sex workers, only alleged johns. SPD generally stopped pursuing SWs as a result. Most of the stings in the last few years have indeed occurred during evening commute time between 5 pm-9 pm during weeknights. Apparently one of the general problems is that since police were standing-by and present in the area and not arresting SWs a lot of newbie johns got popped because they thought the city had somehow decriminalized prostitution since police were not doing anything. This is what an attorney who works a lot of these types of crimes told me. This is an example to always be as knowledgeable and as informed as possible. But, this is how it's been done in Seattle and SPD, the wider aspect of King County is different. I'm aware that there was a sting earlier this year in SeaTac which netted some guys, but i'm not sure if other jurisdictions are pursuing sex workers or not. My assumption is that most of them are not. However, and as always, things can suddenly change at any time.

I picked up a girl around 2 am on one of the blocks from across the Oak Tree Plaza. I saw her standing in the dark off the road a bit so I thought I'd go and take a looksy. She was cute.
