RALEIGH, and. C. — A bill to regulate North Carolina's massage parlors to crack down on human trafficking has received preliminary House approval.

In a 110-5 vote Wednesday, members backed legislation requiring massage and bodywork therapy establishments to be licensed. The law now requires only that massage therapists be licensed. It would cost $20 to apply for a license and there would initial license and renewal fees.

Bill sponsor Randolph County Republican Rep. Allen McNeill says the legislation is meant to allow the state regulate the parlors, which are sometimes used as a front for prostitution and illegal sexual activities.

The measure needs one more House vote before going to the Senate, where a competing proposal also would increase the punishment for violating human trafficking laws and spread awareness about the forced sex trade.

I never encountered anyone forced to do anything at a massage parlor. This all looks good to the high and mighty but shutting the parlors down only increases the street activity and feeds the pimps, quite the opposite affect of what they are saying.

I wanted to make a request the next time JJ list is updated. My recommendation is we add the AAMPs to the list as well. The JJ list is useful to us mongers because it protects our interests to a decent degree. From small things like which places give a good service, which places reuse unclean bedsheets to what AMPs are safe for us mongers to visit. Nobody wants to go to an AMP / AAMP and get mugged or robbed, or none won't want to go to a AMP where there is a STING operation in place even if nothing illegal is requested.

The fact that we allow AAMPs to be not documented and fly under the radar can be a risk for us if we decide to go there. So I recommend that we add them to the list, but one thing we could do is add them to the list with phone number without necessarily adding the exact location. I think this will protect our safety, and that might give them (AAMP) more business as well if we feel it is safe to go there.

There is the occasional one or two that may stick around for a couple years, but many pop up for a couple months. This ends up greatly increasing the size of the list and the amount of upkeep that JJ has to deal with (and for free I might add). Another issue might be scope creep as well. People might start wanting to include all of the Asian posts that pop up on backpage, but those should be reserved for the BackPage section of this site.

TL; DR- Let's just be grateful for what we have.

Thanks for the reply, that covers the reasoning. I also considered adding the non Asian like Quality, but that's usually a different customer type. Although I it's been there well over 20 years, so they are doing something right.

Went to Zen again. Girl had a nice rack so I was yet again hopeful. When asked "hard or soft" I said soft. Off goes the towel. More hopeful thought. After some slight teasing and butterfly stuff. She asks about tip. Now I used to sell cars. But nothing I said or offered was getting the girls out of their hiding place. So after a standard finish she was looking for all the tip we were talking about. I said more for more and gave her standard tip for standard service. They need to learn! So I will not be repeating till I see many reports of better service.

So The list was a great tool then and now. So the list was really for the AMP "brick and mortar" stores which at the time seamed to stick around and I might add at that time there could have been 2,3,4 or more stores owned by the same person. Even if they changed owners it was still there as a brick & mortar store which kinda made it easy to manage by JJ I'm assuming because sometimes the business name and service didn't even change. But then the stores started dropping like flies, different owners changing girls which affected the service, AAMP's popping up making the fast buck then disappearing. So the ASIAN spots are not the steady growth with some owners having several stores or the stores even surviving 12 months. It's a little more complicated or at least an unstable business model IMO, example: Rose re-opens same owner I'm assuming pretty much the same staff different location different name. JJ you the man for giving it a shot I hope your effort can continue if not you still the man. It's a strange business indeed see what happens.
