I disagree with both those statements.

For those of us that have been in the hobby before there were online services like BP, CL, and others, bringing it on line has put the hobby on steroids. It used to be far more dangerous and seedy, filed with back alleys and trailer parks and crappy pay phones with weird pass words. Now, that still happens (except the pay phones), but today we also get to choose from some pretty nice hotels. Add pics and reviews and we have gone from the proverbial farmer's vegetable stand to Publix or even Costco.

As for the Rat Trap, I love this place in spite of the little bit of craziness that goes on. We pretty much welcome everyone, allow them to say anything, as long as it doesn't involve personal threats or disrespect to a person's mother, and, I believe, reveals character like no other thread. A person's posts on reviews threads are in direct correlation to how he or she fights. For me, those who end up on my "full of shit" list AND my "trusted gentleman" list are better determined by their posts on the Rat Trap, not by their reviews.

Just one man's opinion.
