Not the Red Cross
The Red Cross is about as bad as it gets. The majority of money they collect will go toward organizational costs and never reach victims. In top of that, they have a documented track record of continuing to collect money in the name of a specific natural disaster and then directing it into general accounts. The Red Cross uses its reputation to collect millions of dollars while the iron is hot, but they will no longer have boots on the ground when the photo opportunities are no longer there. The needs from this disaster will be there for years, The Red Cross will be nowhere to be seen in a few weeks.
I think about anything is allowed on this thread. My main concern is the donation reaching the intended recipients. The Red Cross is probably as good as any. They also have places where they are loading up trailers of stuff to take up there. They need basic stuff like batteries, toilet paper, diapers, and pet food. It is a horrible situation and I plan on giving something. It will be months if not years before things are back to normal.

That's maybe been your experience but it hasn't been mine. I don't go to bars looking to pick up girls but I end up doing so by accident a lot now. My profession (tattoo artist) tends to make it easy, especially now that I'm in better shape. Women I meet out in the wild have never once stolen from me, asked me for money for all sorts of dumb shit, etc. It's been very chill and a nice change of pace.
Oh naw I said I never had any issues but I don't trust clubs and bars it be some shady people in them I lock my wallet in my car. I meet some super hot chicks who after a few drinks was hot and ready to do what they came out for. I don't go to hars and clubs much anymore seeing escorts spoiled me because its so easy and faster and when the deed is done they gone.

It wasn't just the hurricane. Western North Carolina got pounded with rain before the hurricane and wind came through. My rain gauge had 2" of water in it before the tropical depression came through and I ended up with a little over 5. So almost half the water came before the wind. The ground was already softened up, then the wind came that uprooted trees.
Wow OMG that's aweful I knew had to be some deaths but I didn't think it would be that many. But they were caught off guard because hurricanes don't go that far.
So how do you give to the airlift guys.

I hear that about all charities so I don't know where to go. I read that 10% is for administrative costs. That isn't the first time I heard something negative about the Red Cross. A guy I know from NY said the FEMA guys are heroic. Then there was the scandal with the United Way.

So loading up trucks planes vans getting supplies on and on it cost a lot. I give to St Jude every week for over 15 years and not worried about how much goes to who because they do wonderful work. Families don't have to pay one dime for their kids cancer treatment and they give families room and board if they want to stay a few days. Everything cost you can't help people on that scale without plenty money for operating cost. Sad part is when millions of dollars start rolling in so does greed.

I have heard things about St Jude too not covering all the things they say they do. I don't know what to believe. 10% operating costs sounds reasonable to me.

Those are well trained doctors that could be making a lot more in private practice. They work helping kids all day everyday. Samething with Red Cross they load up planes and go anywhere in the world setting up portable hospitles flying in doctors. These people also need supplies they have to eat need accomadations. Know matter how much good work these organazations do its always reports about all the money not going to victims. If all the money went to victims how can they get the care and supplies to the victims.

They seem to spend a lot of money on TV ads.
They seem to spend a lot of money on TV ads.
Well they get discounts on ADS but they also have over 5 billion in reserves and the CEO and admins make tons of money its crazy. I never would have researched ST JUDE if it wasnt for the comments on here. I'm really tired of St. Jude begging for money on every channel every 8 minutes.

Maybe they need to beg because their administrative staff salaries are so fucking outrageous, FOR A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION.
After seeing Asheville NC I was shook feeling sorry for those who are effected feeling helpless. When I saw on TV how to donate I ran to my computer and sent money to Redcross. I am asking anyone who can afford it to help however you can, these people need our help. Many supplies are being sent up there and to Wilkeboro NC but its never enough they need everything. Tents food water clothes generators. Entire familes are displaced not knowing what in the world they going to do. We spend money on the ladies I'm sure we can spare something for people who are now without a home. I hope its ok to post this I just wanted to reacch out to those who may have saw it on TV or social media and thought nothing about it. Storms can strike anywhere and do major damage and we hope if it was us people would help. Thanks.
