We were discussing this until the last minute without a resolution. Fortunately, all involved were who they said they were, and all of us were normal and sober and presentable.
But the issue remains -- how do party hosts establish their bona fides, and how do they then screen applicants? In this case, none of us met before; I did have a series of text exchanges with McLovin that helped break the ice. But I think we can do better, and I would like to hear suggestions, especially from anyone with experience at this.

Although I have taken part, but I have seen posts and post-events comments from our neighbors in Windsor. Check out sp411 and there may be threads. They way it went down was just like a party with bunch of mongers and SPs all dressed up and having fun. No monkey business but the exchange of contacts for later reconnecting and some were right after the party in a nearby HoeTels. I was planning to participate in one but work travel took precedence. Maybe we can learn something from the Canadians Ehay.

I just wanted to post to say hi! I am new here but not to the hobby I was around for the old boards and have went to one of the old party s. I have seen my share of girls and would like to get back in the the fun. Getting hard to find ladys with BP and CL been gone. Well I hope to have some fun here.
While I don't use GV for this sort of thing, I've seen some weird things out of GV as a user that led me to their product forum.
I see a lot of people recommending it here in place of a dedicated phone. To those, I would suggest heading over to that forum and look at all of the issues that seem to be known. And seem to have been known for a very long time. That can just happen.
Two words I found interesting to look up were "help!" and "wrong" (as in the phone forwards to the wrong number, the voicemail emails when I don't want it to, Google is sending messages to my personal phone VM). There are some threads that are a "me too" for as long as GV has been a thing, and some have said will not being corrected. Like it forwarding calls, emails and messages to old, unlinked phones or numbers (with no fix).
I've put no thought into the problems this can cause for others, just a PSA.

Recommendations from known girls?
Pay a small fee and run them on various sites to verify them?
Proof of where they work?
Have them pay a door fee and maybe have a girl service them?
LE isn't stupid, but do they care if everyone's over 18?
If there's a lawyer on here maybe they know or recommend what we can do or not do. I mean we're just gathering is that a crime?
