If I do anything on Facebook I use a fake name and I don't provide any profile information. With such a Facebook account, the only thing FB gets is an IP address which is no big deal especially if you use TOR or Anonymous surfing sites.
It is easy to create to create an FB account with a fake name. You will be able to do all the searches you want once you get it setup.
