I know that EAA have gotten more strict with their screening process ever since gold got busted but then again they were running in three different states. The Internet changed the game when it came along (for us veteran mongers who remember using BBSes to review and research providers), and Internet 2. 0 (the WWW) changed it even more, now that hoes could actually have websites and advertise online. The problem was, a research tool useful to mongers is also useful to LE.
Now we're at the cusp on Internet 3. 0 (blockchain and its cousins), and that will revolutionize the game again. Early on, at least, it will be advantage: mongers; trustless contracts, decentralized currencies and so on. Might even spark a new Golden Age, like the mid-late 90's or so? One can hope.
