Wed; worked on the north end. One chubby WSW and one light skinned BSW on woodward just south of 7 mile around noon. John are was also hopping one looked real good BSW young tight jeans, wish I'd a had my camera. Was bored Saturday night and decided to do the stroll. 2:00am 8 & Jr saw 3 WSW ranging from 4 to 6 on SW scale. Also saw loads of LE parked all over the place, decided to split. Hit the 8 & gratiot area around 3:30. To my surprise there were about five SW's out there, 4WSW and 1BSW. 3 of the WSW were at least 7's on the regular scale. One of them very pretty a 9 with slender body nice hips and chest. Almost too pretty to be a regular SW but did get picked up by mongers. Did not partake myself, earlier LE shined their spotlight on my car as they passed by, must have seen me do a turn around to get a better check on the gals and I got spooked.

Here's the "executive summary." :) Thanks to WarPig and Amp Middleman for their suggestions, much appreciated.

There are two types of chat lines that I've used: 1) the "live" chat, and 2) "messages". Some (including one of the two that I've used) are a combination of both. I've used LiveLinks (live chat) at 700-210-1010 and LavaLife (messages and live chat) at 313-406-7475. Both lines will provide you with local numbers to call and both (if memory serves me correct) give you free time as an incentive to start. There are more available than that, look in the Free Press or Detroit News classified ads (section 120, "Dating Services"). My comments about format, prompts, etc pertain to those two lines. Other lines can/will vary in their setup.

The basic idea of each: you listen to a woman's greeting and then send her a reply. She can then reply to your message. You trade messages back and forth, getting a "feel" for each other and what each of you are looking for. You can't post phone numbers in your greetings, but you can exchange numbers while trading messages. You can send and receive messages to as many women as you want to in both formats, at the same time (altho if a woman is popular, she might not get to your message for a while). Same goes for you, if you have "game", you might have several messages to page through while listening to greetings.

Each format provides for a "greeting" (1-5 minutes, depending on the format) that you listen to and respond to. In live chat, you're paying for the entire time you're on the line, including the time you listen to and respond to greetings. In message format, you only pay for the time you create/send messages to, and receive messages from women. The women in live chat are more or less segregated by location (Detroit, and "outside", i.e. the rest of Michigan, and Toledo). The women in the message line are segregated by what they're looking for (intimate encounters, dating, long-term, "safe sex", D/B, etc) and location.

If you want that "quickie" pickup, live chat is the way to go most of the time, there are more "instant" encounters available there. If you have time to cultivate something longer-term, the messages are better. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Some hints for both:

1) learn the keypad "prompts" for each by heart. You'll learn to move quickly through the greetings and save yourself time. These lines (especially the live chat) are NOT CHEAP.

2) Think about what you want to record as a greeting. It helps to write it out and then read it, instead of spontaneously coming up with one. BE A BIT CREATIVE. The women hear "this is your boy", "wassup", etc, ad nauseum. State what you're looking for, but don't be crude, and try to display a sense of humor.

3) Be truthful when someone does contact you. If you're attached, say so at the git-go. If you're overweight, balding, etc, and you're asked to provide a description, be honest.

4) Both the live chat and message lines have "direct connect") i.e., talk one-on-one capability). When in direct connect, you won't get messages from other women. So...keep the connection short, cuz it'll cost you big $$ to talk to one woman for any length of time. Give her a couple minutes, feel each other out, and then politely suggest trading phone numbers (I often tell her that for her comfort level, if she wants to call and block her number, that'd be fine. That provides them with the same "security" that she gets from direct-connecting with you). If she doesn't want to trade numbers, politely dump her.

Just some random comments, to enlarge on what I wrote before.

I haven't completely broken the code on what the woman really want when they post a greeting. You hear everything from "just looking for a friend" to "generous male wanted" to an outright "escort looking to play". Sometimes it tough to know exactly what they want. Exchange some messages with her to feel her out, and as I've mentioned, maybe "direct-connect" for a couple of minutes. If after a couple of minutes, you haven't exchanged phone numbers, dump the direct connection and move on, you could be missing messages from other women. Be polite and talk/exchange messages as though you were face-to-face with her. I've heard from a lot of women that they get a lot of "baby, ya wanna hook up and fuck" messages right from the git-go, and even if that's what they're looking for, they like men to be a bit more subtle and polite than that. (Of course, there are a few that want that and make no bones about it...no worries about having to be subtle lol).

The "live chat" lines, as I've mentioned, are more conducive to quick hookups. On Livelinks, I've heard as many as 120+ on the line at night, and as few as 12 in early morning (usually around 8).

On the other hand, the "message" lines take more time to cultivate a meeting. LavaLife does have a direct-connect feature, but I've found that there are fewer women on line at any one time than on the "live" chat lines.

Now, some stories...I've met a number of women from both lines, and they ranged from sexy slender to bbw. Some were looking for play-to-play with no strings, some were needy looking for help and a continuing relationship, and a few were looking for extra-marital "fulfillment." I'd say 90% of themhad some sort of ongoing and significant drama in their lives, which is something you have to be prepared to deal with.

For example...I met one woman on LavaLife who seemed perfectly suited for an ongoing steady gig. She was divorced but living with her ex to take care of their three kids (I verified that, she showed me the divorce decree), she was available during the day (mom could babysit), she lived nearby, and she was a MILF if I ever saw one. She fucked like a rabbit, kissed like an angel, only asked for a few bucks once in a while to get stuff for the kids and for the fridge (hubby was in a low-paying job), and was content with the way things were going. However, I eventually discovered she had emotional issues (I think she was mildly bipolar), and her family was in and out of trouble with the law, to the extent that she asked me for $$ to help bail mom outta jail. After I helped her with that and a couple of other things, she started to become more unavailable and ask for more and more money, to the point where I had to finally say "no". She then started threats of extortion (reveal us to my wife...unfortunately, one of our sessions had been at home...lesson learned there lol), and I had to threaten her with prosecution if she did (MCL 750.213, if you guys ever have to refer to it). Fortunately, she made those threats via phone texting and voicemail, so I had something to fall back on. She eventually apologized and has left me alone since.

Met another woman in Toledo whom I talked to on LiveLinks, who proved that you have to take what these women say with a grain of salt (sometimes a whole shaker lol). She said she was staying with a friend and described herself as "slightly overweight". I thought "what the heck", I was free that afternoon and at loose ends. I should have figured something was amiss when the directions she gave me were contradictory, and when I called her to clarify them she got bent outta shape that I wasn't finding the place. She eventually gave the phone to her "friend", who promptly corrected the directions I'd been given (shoulda been a left turn instead of right at an intersection). Well, she was overweight, all right...she barely fit into the front seat of my small truck. Found out over lunch that she was homeless, she'd driven up from Cinci to get with her brother and find a place to live, but her car had broken down around Lima and when she finally got to Toledo, her brother wouldn't answer her repeated calls (wonder why?). She went back three times for more chow at the Chinese place I took her to and talked continually about her problems. After we left (didn't take long, I'd long resolved to myself that THIS meeting would be the only one), she asked for $20 for bus fare so she could go back to Cinci, get her 10 year old son, and come back up so we could "start a relationship." Whew. Never answered her phone calls after that. I felt kinda sorry for her, she was obviously having trouble coping with life (the "friend" she was staying with was actually someone the Salvation Army had referred her to!), but t'weren't up to me to save her.

Comments about precautions apply. If it's a short-term thing, don't bring her to your living quarters. If it's gonna be a long-term fling, don't bring her till your "spidey senses" tell you that it's going to be OK, and even then, don't be in a hurry to bring her over.

Use of a non-contract cell phone is absolutely needed. Metro PCS gives unlimited texting and calls for $50/month, no phone bill involved, no contract (it's month to month). Sure, it doesn't work outside of the SE Michigan area (altho for you Toledo guys, there is reception most of the time in parts of the city), but it's worth it. I've made a couple of connections outside the area, and I set up times/dates ahead of time and then confirm enroute with a phone card on a pay phone, like the cards you can get off the rack at Kroger. They hose you for units when you use a pay phone, but when confirming, you don't have to talk long.

Another story...I got on LiveLinks late one nite after getting off work and got into an exchange of messages with a woman who was "camping out" in her back yard with a female friend (it was a holiday weekend). She sounded real happy (she'd been drinking), and we "clicked" pretty nicely. We finally exchanged phone numbers, hers was a 616 area code (Grand Rapids)...and she said she was soooooooooooo sorry I was on the other side of the state...she giggled that she was horny and looking for a hookup that night with a nice, decent older guy...and that I fit the bill, except for being where I was...damn the bad luck!

Another story...I connected on LiveLinks with a woman who eventually offered $100 for "pay to play." When I got there, it was obvious that she was extremely nervous and not used to doing that sort of thing. I felt sorry for her, so I left her a few bucks to "help with the rent" and stayed in touch with her. Eventually helped her with rent a couple more times while she "looked for work". She admitted that some of the money I gave her went to pot and pills (and I even, unwittingly, gave her rides to her connections...she said she was repaying $$ that she had borrowed, when in fact she was 'scoring'). I occasionally get a voice mail from her now, and I just ignore it.

Good experiences? Well, Forever Det may remember Nicole, a short, petite gal who had a greeting on LavaLife. She had 3 kids and was trying to get back on her feet and was doing "pay for play." She was nice-looking and sweet, and I saw her once...for $80 she was a great time. She disappeared after that, she'd said she was trying to move downriver, get regular employment again, and resume a normal life. I hope she did...never did hear from her again.

I like Metro PCS because there's no contract, it's month-to-month, and it's unlimited text and talk for $40 or $50. No phone bill, they remind you via text every month when your bill is due.

Understanding that she is a bit scared too, stay close to the immediate area, but park smart. Never pull into any alleys that you aren't absolutely sure you can pull out of. Keep a single key in your ignition. I had one snatch my keys and act like she was calling for her pimp to get more than I was willing to give up. I gave her. 2 to just go away. On a lighter note of tips: get some regulars. I avoid girls hanging with pimps. If he's visible its not that bad, its when they are hiding around a corner that things can go sour. After awhile you will see who the regulars are in certain areas, and that is comforting. They aren't trying to completely rip you off. Another idea is to bring somebody with you to the area.

Fellas, it was dead EVERYWHERE Sunday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm. I cruised Ypsi US 12 area, and saw nothing. A blonde with pimp were near the Burger King, but I passed having been warned that is where the County LE work. Kept cruising thru Inkster and saw nothing. I was hoping for a BSW, but nothing in Inkster. Went into Detroit on US 12 and did not see a thing. I took Central to McGraw to see is ATF BSW Dee Dee was strolling. Didn't see Dee Dee, but a WSW (age 40 plus, brunette, about a 4 on the scale) approached my car and I waived her off. I was keeping high hopes for a younger BSW. Got back on the Ave. And checked East of Livernios for a side street I have dreamed well down, again nothing! Went down W. Vernor to Woodbine to Fort. I saw a HSW, with pot marked face, and hard to get her attention. Continued over to Fort and didn't see anything. As I was heading home I thought of the regular gal Nikki who told me Friday she was hoping to see me this weekend, but I think being regular defeats the whole concept of mongering. I posted last night that I drove around and went home empty handed. Well, maybe that is my excuse for being so sloppy this afternoon! I went over to Fort and Clark area. Yes, I felt lucky of sorts trying to fall asleep last night after the whole experience. All I could think about was the cop prodding me about why I was where I was, how I did not become a smart guy (which is a lot like me), and how being respectful and private about my "being" paid off! He kept asking me to be honest and tell him why and what I was doing in the area. I politely alluded to being allowed to travel anywhere, and he quickly said, "absolutely, you can go anywhere you want to go. " I didn't want to get into a constitutional law debate with a beat cop with handcuffs, but legally, I didn't have to explain my existence. I can hardly give advice after yesterday's complete stupidity, but I gotta say that never admitting to anything related to a SW is the best plan. Say you were picking something up from a guy on E-bay or something. Don't try to explain too much, just keep it simple, and don't say too much. I'd rather get a ticket for picking up a hitchiker than solicitation because of LE's imagination. There is a phrase in the Michigan statue that mentions admitting to solicitation. Admitting to anything isn't my style when it comes to LE looking for revenue in the form of my car. Even the LE yesterday told me he knew what the girl was all about and that I was parked in front of a shoot up spot. Did he want her for a likely felony charge of solicitation? Personally I can't stand lawyers, they charge way too much. But I believe you would have a better chance to get off lightly by paying for one.

BTW, if you don't mind me asking where did you get popped?

Get yourself a law dog on your own.
Court Appointed is never a good way to go.
A good law dog will plea it down and may be able to prevent you fron haveing a record. Look into a deversion program most citys have one for first timers you pay a fine do some community service work and are on probation for a year or two then your record is clean.
But first get your car out of inpound you will have to pay a storage fee every day it is in.
This always costs a lot of cash just spend the money and put it behind you.

Definitely get your own lawyer!!! If you are talking the 36th district, there will always be a couple of on-site lawyers that will try getting you to go with them. It is absolutely worth the money to save you some of the aggravation that is coming your way.

Having just went through this, I can tell you that mine was pleaded down to disorderly conduct. The only reason I took this offer was because I was nabbed by a sting group and there were up to 4 officers that could have shown up if I had taken it to court.

If you were ticketed by a single cop, your lawyer will probably tell you to see it through to the end as most times in the 36th, the officer will not show up.

All said and done... 4 trips to the courthouse (Zoo), just under $3,000 spent and lots of work missed.

If you are married, complain about missing mail and have your mail forwarded to a new p.o. box out of her way, "close to your work".

You may be in good shape if you did not admit anything to the cop.
You could say you just offered the woman a ride then you let her out when she offered you a service for cash not wanting any part if that. If I recall one local politician got off that way about a year ago.

Two weeks ago, the Detroit Free Press published two long, front-page stories that graphically destroyed the career of — and probably immensely damaged the life of — Melvin Butch Hollowell, a man who is not an elected official or on the public payroll, and who has been convicted of nothing.

He has, in fact, been charged with only a low-grade misdemeanor. But they ran these stories, with large headlines (“Hollowell accused of picking up hooker” and “Police report: Woman says Hollowell paid her $60 for sex”) because they involved a prominent person and gave them an excuse to write what amounted to soft porn disguised as journalism.

The newspaper described the supposed sex act in especially graphic detail in its earlier outstate editions, basing the account on what the “known prostitute,” also identified as a heroin addict, told police. (Hollowell denied doing anything except stopping to help a woman he thought was in trouble.)


Naturally, this was extremely responsible behavior on the part of the newspaper. Who could be more credible, after all, than an addict who would likely say anything to avoid being locked up? Any reporter who has worked the police beat ought to know she would have said that Hollowell made her a watercress sandwich, if she thought that’s what the cops wanted her to say.

No wonder journalists rank lower than politicians in public esteem.

What all this means is that whatever happens, Butch Hollowell, a man who has accomplished a lot and who has two teenage children, will forever be identified in the public mind as the man who gave “three folded $20 bills” to a cheap blond prostitute working in front of a dimly lit donut shop.

Two years ago, he ran for secretary of state, and openly hoped to become the first black governor. But he ran a poor campaign and was walloped by Terri Lynn Land, who heavily outspent him. Jennifer Granholm then attempted to make Hollowell party chairman, but was too politically weak to overcome labor’s desire to keep their boy, Mark Brewer, in the job.

Democrats tried, as a compromise, to have two party chairmen, with Butch very clearly second among equals. (Brewer got paid; Hollowell didn’t.) The situation was impossible, and neither man distinguished himself in the role.

Frankly, most Democrats I know thought Hollowell seemed more petty. Just before the hooker incident, Hollowell was pushed into resigning and becoming an unpaid legal adviser to the Kerry presidential campaign.

He also got a seat on the Michigan Civil Rights Commission. Most politicos figured his career as a candidate for elective office was essentially over.

Now that is certainly true. Naturally, the Detroit Free Press made sure that it surrounded its public lynching with the usual legally correct weasel words, mainly “alleged.” They even wrote an editorial further stomping on him, which began with the pompous words “The legal system will have to decide whether Melvin Butch Hollowell broke the law ...”

What nonsense. He’s already been convicted in print. If he is convicted in court, do you know what will happen to him? The electric chair? Alcatraz? Not quite. He may have to pay $500, probably less.

When you cover news, the first thing you learn is that you don’t have space and time for everything. It all comes down to priorities.

Those of the Free Press are clear. On the day all the lurid details were published, the newspaper buried these far-less-important items inside the paper in its local news briefs column: The largest currency smuggling arrest in Detroit history; two Christian missionaries, one from Michigan, were murdered in California, and a dead man was found at a local recycling station.

Most murdered children get far less attention in the Free Press than the minor misdemeanor of Butch Hollowell. What he did was stupid at best — even if he is telling the truth — and newsworthy to some degree; he is a political figure.

Had it been my newspaper, I would have put a story on the front of the metro section when he was arrested, and had another story when the case was resolved in court. Politically, this would have had the same effect.

You might say that wouldn’t sell papers. Here’s a fact: Twenty years ago, the Free Press sold 630,000 copies every day. They sell barely 340,000 now. Not so many people seem to love them anymore. I can’t imagine why.

DETROIT - A judge threw out a solicitation charge Friday against former Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Melvin "Butch" Hollowell.
Circuit Judge Prentis Edwards said Wayne County sheriff's deputies did not have the authority to pull over Hollowell on Aug. 17 near his home in Detroit's exclusive Palmer Woods neighborhood.

Hollowell, a longtime fixture in state Democratic politics, was issued a citation accusing him of soliciting a prostitute after deputies saw Hollowell pick up a woman. They followed him briefly before making the stop.

"I'm glad it's over. It's been devastating. The recovery has begun," Hollowell said following a five-minute hearing in Detroit.

A district court judge initially rejected Hollowell's argument about the authority of the Wayne County sheriff. Hollowell then appealed to Wayne County Circuit Court.

"There remains serious questions about how and why this case was initiated," said Cornelius Pitts, Hollowell's lawyer, who declined to elaborate.

Pitts has argued the Wayne County sheriff's deputy who issued the citation did not see any sexual activity, hear any financial propositions or witness any illegal activity between Hollowell and the woman who got into his car.

The defense attorney also argued that the deputy didn't have the right to pull over Hollowell because the county sheriff's office lacks the authority to enforce city ordinances unless it is in pursuit of a suspect or working with city police.

Hollowell pleaded not guilty in late August to the misdemeanor of receiving and admitting another for an act of prostitution, a violation punishable by up to 90 days in jail and $500 in fines.

He left his Democratic Party post to become an unpaid adviser to John Kerry's national legal team, but stepped down after he was issued the solicitation citation. He also resigned his appointment to the Michigan Civil Rights Commission and his position with the Butzel Long law firm in Detroit.

Hollowell has called the incident a "gross misunderstanding." He said he noticed a woman who appeared to be in distress and offered to take her to the police station a few blocks away. He said she declined and asked him to drop her off at a house around the corner.

The woman told officers she was working as a prostitute in front of the Dutch Girl Donut Shop when Hollowell picked her up. She said Hollowell paid her $60 for a sex act.
