- For the increasingly paranoid, use a service such as tor or a VPN instead of directly accessing websites.
- At minimum, use a private browsing mode so that no cookies or history of your hobby activities are on your computer or phone or.
- Use a virtual machine to fully encapsulate your hobby activities away from your normal activities. Tails is a reasonable and ironically named choice.
- Your own research, confirm that a provider has an established history unless you're comfortable taking one for the team, which I don't advise until you've developed your spidey sense.
- Be professional. I usually frame my scheduling with a provider as if I were scheduling a doctor's appointment or client meeting.
- Always pay with cash in person, never use apps or anything that could maintain a discrete payment record between two parties.

Keep in mind both hpv and hsv are things you could have picked up years ago. You could have either (or both) right now and not know it. As far as I know, there isn't even a test for hpv if you don't have visible symptoms (warts).
