I am reading all these reports about Nadine just now as I don't subscribe to this thread via email. I must say that I am really shocked and thankful at the same time as I barely escaped becoming a victim myself. Selective, too bad this happened to you. I agree with Golfcart. Selective, this was very truthful and an excellent answer. In today's age of the computer, completely legitimate dating via the internet is very typical. Nothing needed to be mentioned about what site or for what reason the original meeting occurred. People use internet personal ads and dating sites for meeting people to go to dinner or movies with, etc. I think it was a very effective answer.
And always remember, if you are going to ever say anything to LE (for any reason), keep it simple and brief. Don't think that you have to have some elaborate story to explain what is going on. The more complicated, the more difficult to remember the story and the more likely you are to contradict yourself. And always be respectful and polite with LE.

Well I thought I would chime in a give a little detail about what happened to me by Marissa. She knew all the right buttons to push with me, and had me to agree to leave my front door unlocked and have her come in and "surprise me" when she got there. Call it foolishness, call it not following your instincts. I even had the notion, maybe she's setting me up! But then I thought the last two visits were very good, so why would she steal from a client and lose out on the considerably higher income from services rendered over time, compared to stealing anything one time.
Long story short I woke up to snowy footprints left in my living room and all my dvds (not that many but still!) missing. Awesome.
I am brand new to the hobby, and this is a considerable burn. So it's either get over it and find a great INCALL girl next, or quit altogether.
Just saying, rookie mistake, I should have known better, and won't EVER make the mistake again.

The biggest thing that I don't understand of all of this is the complete shyte 'street' value of DVDs, at least if you pawn them (which is what most would do for the 'fast cash' need). All the pawn shops that I know of pay only 50 cents per DVD, and perhaps 3 bucks for a Blue Ray DVD. That being said, if there was a thousand dollars of DVDs at the figured 'new' price of $15, it's only 66 movies, for $33 pawn value. You'd get more for a stolen DVD player! Anyway, I just don't see the value of stolen DVDs, unless you're planning on keeping them, or taking the time to try and sell them on Ebay or the like. I know that it doesn't add much to the topic on hand, but the fiscal side of this was bugging me. :p

This is a felony theft for like you said 30 bucks, doesn't make much sense, but then neither do most criminals.

Unfortunately desperate people steal stupid things. I know that so far as hobby info this discussion does nothing. But it does peak my interest so I will chime in. I think we have some misused uses of terms. The term that originally should have been used is "Replacement Value". In this case it very likely would be over $1, 000 and that is the area the insurance company would payout. KYGuy is correct. The street value is totally different. The street value is how quick can you move the property. The reality is the two are very far from each other. The best of both worlds is receive the insurance check then go tot he pawn shop she sold the stuff off at and just buy back the stuff you want and use the profit to get other things. Ok. That is enough of my drifting. .

I have known Nadine for about a year now. She and I had our own rip-off issue and she has tried numerous times to make it up to me. I was not comfortable with this and chose to decline and move on. In my conversations with her I think her life has steadily went down hill. Hence her desperation.
I am sure she knows what is going down and is in run and hide mode. At least until things blow over. That is probably why her account is gone. She did the same thing last year when her real name showed on one of her pics as it is tattooed on her body and was clearly visible in her ad.
