Korean Bar Reports

While drinking recently, I been observing kbgirls STILL havnt learned basic manners and they wonder why the bars are slow or they don't get repeat customers. I see the Yaa! Yaa! Yelling at customers or other kbg, not caring that it upsets the mood. The 'its so slow so you need to buy me gl drink', or 'you didn't come long time so you need to take care me good tonite. ' There many variations of this as most of you know. One that is particularly rude is the interuption mid convo with your partner by a bg or mama to help rip off some other customers or tag team a group that requests the hot girls. Luckily, my partners always refuse as I don't stand for that shit or maybe they don't like the other bg, hehe. Sometimes they'll translate for me, 'can you babysit my regular while I go big spender table? ' Many variations of this too. Hey girls, you need to learn EXCUSE ME FOR INTERUPTING, MAY I TAIK TO YOUR PARTNER? Then I'd say NO! And interupting us is rude! Na. Na, only wishing could say that cause no kbg ever asked permission, at least seriously anyway. The hitting with slapping or punching of customers that didn't grab ass or touch the girl. The you need to move table' with no sorry, bartender moves your beer and says move over there, I need to make room. If you buy drinks for any of these girls, you are buying for bg with NO CLASS. There is much more. What are the rudeness stuff that bugs you guys?

Now they are adults and undesirable as employees, and probably lack the discipline to work and take orders from a boss, not that they would want to.

I don't go to KBs as much as I used to for some of the same reasons as you, Oldee. Some things don't change, even in the face of dwindling business. As an old coworker of mine would say, "Numb-nuts". Nowadays the younger ones are too into their iPhones and overall there just isn't as much fun anymore.

Yes, being moved at the bar is one of my pet peeves, unless it is handled nicely. Usually the local bartenders are cool about it. I find I get vexed the way the k-bartendresses do it, though. One time I was almost done with my drink when the girl rudely demanded that I move; I told her I had a better idea and left. Then she was nice, "Heyyy, come back". Sure, I could have said more but I've seen girls lip-off at customers, and I don't like to get angry.

Hello Eve used to have that hypers waiter who would zip around that small cramped bar and bark out drink orders like he was on uppers or something; he's an accident waiting to happen. I haven't really been going now that it's Twilight so I don't know if he's still there.

There were times when it seemed that the girl and bartendress were tweaking the customer's tab with extra drinks. You should see the conniving looks on their faces during that process; pretty much the opposite of when they are back at the table. New Casino was one place; now they're gone. Evergreen is another; they've been dead for ages now (prior to Maya).

I try to ignore the crudeness and rudeness displayed all the time (no exaggeration) in some form or another. Perhaps the behavior is limited to the bar culture like a cultured pig, ahhh, I mean pearl.

It is amusing at times to watch them belittle themselves; they actually appear fugly, when you think about it.

Let's be positive and recognize a KBG with even a smidgen of manners and "class". I nominate. (can't think of one)

What really pisses me off is when they don't listen. You tell them your not hungry but, they still bring the food. Also, you tell them only 1 more drink. But, they don't listen and still ask for more. Or, instead of getting 1 drink, she gets 2 at once. Their attitude is: "He won't mind. He bought me drinks before" What you think, don't matter to them. This is more of their tricks. But, it is rude for them to help themselves without asking first.

What's sad is the fact that you tell them nicely, they don't take you seriously and won't listen. They think you won't get mad so they push you. Only when you show firmness and authority with them is when they listen. Heh, they are like little kids. You tell them nicely to stop playing around they don't listen. When you be firm and scold them is when they finally listen.

They one track minded. Hostess bar, they expect you spend money. If you don't, then you shouldn't be going to these type of places. That's their mentality. I remember one of the bartenders at Niagras telling me this. She said: "This is a hostess bar. You suppose to spend money"

She had an accent, and classmates would ignore her when she tried to interact with them. She told me this, at the end of the semester when she called to thank me for all my help. What was nearly insignificant for me, was a HUGE deal for her.

We kept in touch and one day she came home from work and called me to tell me about some overly demanding Korean customers they had. Basically they were offensive and drawing attention to themselves; she was "ashamed" because "they are my people". She was the sole Korean in a Japanese restaurant.

I took some crap from 'friends' for dating her (just because she's Korean; they never bothered to meet her), but to this day she remains one of the nicest girls I've known. Of course, when they saw pics of her smoking hot k-girlfriends, THEN they wanted to be introduced!

They're always looking for ways to get attention via conflict, argument, and some other selfish act. Basically, they're just "fish out of water" leading a nonexistent and distorted life.

Please note that the observations are regarding BGs only and not civilians, keeping it relative to Oldee's prior post.

You just have to be firm and stand your ground. Once you do this, you will be fine. Think of it this way, how do Korean men handle their women. What do they do that allows them to do that? The KBGs prefer local guys as they seem to be more tractable and malleable. Once you stand your ground, you take them by surprise and gain respect. However, you must also be respectful in the way in which you stand your ground. No shouting, yelling or name calling. They expect this from Korean guys and that is why they don't like them.

Saturday night town was pretty busy alot of places which was a little surprising. Camelot looked dead and moonflower was busier altho just looked and moved on. Splash had decent crowd but most guys sat at the bar. 2 new older bartenders. Went loser8, oops, winner8. And was pretty busy. I did notice tho that I must have had bad eyes on tues. No hot girls to speak of, mostly older vets. Junk service. Jgirl Miki looks like she doing well there as I know local girls have hard time working with other kbg. This bar will soon follow same history as its predecessors cause talent and service sucks. Younger girl asked to sit with me but I finished my drink already and left. Napa was dead and didn't see girls there. Evergreen was dead, then looked in on Pharoah which was busy. No empty seat at bar so reluctantly went Damour. Several girls came by including that new girl Ivy. Not bad looks but can tell already getting spoiled. Declined them all as was doing my usual window shopping. Thats all folks. And no. Didn't go Twilight and butterfly, LOL.

I have a nice guy no can say no face so have lots of experience practising saying no over the years. I got it down where its easy and I don't disrespect them even if they disrespect me. Why? 2 wrongs don't make a right. Some kbgirls have told me that they respect the no sayers MORE than the yes guys. They LIKE the yes guys more but disrespect them secretly. IF I did care what they thought, I'd rather be disliked but respected. Interestingly, many of the hot girls will turn to submmisive innocent no ask for drinks girls sometimes. Sometimes they are turned on by the guys that show indifference not going gaga like the rest of the guys. Their pride can't take it, LOL. I scored a few times like this cause some girls got to prove they can get any guy, LOL. Anyhow, for me, the onus is on the girl to entertain the guy before they get a drink. (unless they really hot and your gut says got potential) The Hi my name ripoffkim may I have a drink? ' gets met with 'Hi my name is customer. And may I say no? ' (but always smile) Havnt said that one in awhile tho, got many no lines, hehe. Sadly I see too much guys getting TRAINED by spoiled girls and spoiling them even more. And guys, don't SETTLE for the girls not the best one you like but buy just cause they sit down your table. Be PICKY! You are the interveiwer. They are the the interveiwee or auditioner. You hold the power! Sadly. Too many guys GIVE AWAY their power. Don't be a jellyfish. Ok, my turn to go back in the cave.

But actually, many, if not most, are concerned with manners. But there are two factors that often make this inscrutable to non-Koreans. One is that even a lot of veteran bar mongers really don't understand Korean culture and customs. So in the Western context, it can seem that they are rude or have no manners. Notice that they are usually polite or even deferential to Korean men in the bars.

The second is that a lot of bar girls are not exactly the cream of Korean society. Think redneck in a t-back. Even in Korea, they would be considered uncouth. Nothing surprising here. I have seen incredibly boorish behavior on the part of local guys in Korean bars.

Friday Night started with a beer at Kools. Nothing in there as those "girls" are pretty old so it's a good place to just get a cheap beer. Play is definitely available for those who like. Not for me.

Moved onto Spotlight. Bought a couple for Alisa. She's good looking but I think is too expensive for me, plus, I have no idea if there's any potential for play there.

Passed through Vegas but spotted Crazy Angie so I jumped out there.

Off to town and wound up at Splash after checking Moonflower which seemed pretty busy at the time. I like that msJulie as she is very friendly and there where a lot breasty kbg's hustling drinks which made for some pleasant viewing. Called it a nite having only dropped about fifty bucks. Not bad for me.

I know its not too exciting but I thought I'd add to the forum Korean Bar Reports. Kindah think that other stuff maybe should be in The Mind of.

Potential in Colorful. Youngish (but then the others are in their 40s so WTF) chick with cute face. Chunky but not objectionably fat. Tried to make eye contact but she was absorbed in her iPhone. Some other women that I'd not seen before but they were ajumma types. Treated tonight as recon. Will try to penetrate tomorrow, I think.

A friend was told to look for Maya. Walked in and was busy so had to sit in the back. An older one (fortties early fiftys, nice rack and body, found out he name was Sue) came to ask what we wanted and asked for Maya Said Maya was busy with coutomer in the table across us as we didn't know how she looked like. She was sitting with an older monger and she was all over him. She looked like a player because, went to piss so to pass his table and check her out. Looked like her hand was up his shorts. On the return trip back, saw her spread eagle with one leg on table showing punani.

We waited for her to come over but she stayed with the old guy, he bought choke drinks. Lots of play, taller about 5' 6-5"7".140 lbs, big but not fat.

Went back to Kalihi, slow.

Until everything is done and everything is turned over Miki will still be a part of the bar. And then Maya will probably have to close for a month just to clean up the place to get rid of Miki's stench out of the place. They need to rip out the carpets as the old carpets may still be under there. There is still a smell in the place, they have to really clean out the place, fix the drains, etc. A lot of work to be done.

Went to camelot Saturday night. Many new girls working. All similar, thoroughbreds (cute but thin and small tits). Beware though, many are from the mainland but act like they are from Korea. Funny how they speak like they don't speak engrish that well or understand that well, but after the customer leaves they start speaking with a mainland slang.

Too bad, wish Patty mama was like before where they would service the customer properly. Now the girls are just there to make money but don't put out. What a waste and not worth spending money on.

Bah. Colorful had no spaces on the bar. Mix of the local deadwood and BGs with no customers. When will the owners figure out that working girls on the bar take up room that a PAYING customer would otherwise occupy? But did not see any worthwhile talent on the floor, so I didn't bother trying to find a spot.

While most of the workers (bartenders, waiters) will be out of there I also heard that one stipulation miki had for maya was that viet Nancy would stay. I also heard the rumor that Maya wants to clean up the place, meaning no play like what's going on now. Not sure if that means the play girls are out of there, why have Nancy still working as she is the the pimp for the play girls there.

We shall have to see when the takeover is complete.

I visited pharaoh's grand opening tonight (Tuesday). Food was so-so, beef, shrimp, veggies, poke, rice and kim chee. Okay but not great.

They were giving out rafle tickets for drawings. The drawings (after 9:30) happenned about every half hour. They gave out vouchers, $10, $25, the highest when I was there was $85. No real cash so you have to spend the voucher at the bar anyway. Was no fair anyway, the girls got their favorite guys plenty of tickets, it was like I only got one ticket and everyone next to me had 10 tickets. I gave mine to a friend I saw and left after a little over an hour, wasn't worth staying for so little and so little chance.

Cindy is still the mama there. Chicken alice was working the floor, maybe she is the financial backer.

They changed the tables a little, on the makai side of the room there is a separate area with 2 tables hidden behind a partition, some potential for play in that area. Next there are 2 rows of tables and then the main aisle to get you to the bar.

Some girls were dressed in evening gowns but the rest weren't. Some not bad looking girls but I wasn't interested in buying the girls a drink, esp a lucky drink.

It's the danger of encountering the tricks and tactics these BGs do as well as seeing who is going to approach you at the bar and resisting the urge. Got to love these hostess bars man. Imagine all these hostess bars were gone. Every single one closed down. I doubt most of you would say: "Its about time these bars closed! Good riddens!" Even if the BGs being ROB here and there, being rude etc. Heh you got to admit, most of us still go.

Pharaoh: We got there a little after 10pm. They didn't give us any raffle ticket, did you have to ask for it m69? Anyway, other than the free pupus they offered (that we didn't even eat-ate before we got there) , nothing really special or different that night. Mostly the same girls from other nights, and as for the dress up thing I seen some of the girls wear that stupid prom get up on any other random night. Also that grand opening reef at the front door reminded me of those reefs used at funerals. Not sure if it's the glass or the beer but the coors tasted funny last night. Seen something a little rare, a kbg with a tramp stamp. She also had some weird sentence tat on her shoulder.

Damour: dead, nothing new and super slow.

Evergreen: more of maya's girls working last night or I think they were (I assume they are her girls as I never seen them before at EG). Handful of young and pretty ones. Didn't sit with any though, most were busy with customers. Most of Miki's old vultures were in there same spot as usual on the kap entrance side with no customers.

A few months ago I overheard Miki telling him some stipulations he would have to follow to stay. Not sure about the girls either, it would be nice to see some leave as the certain ones just have to move on to Kalihi. I know a lot are assuming they will get to stay.

Why is Pharaoh's just now having a "Grand Opening"? Didn't they open late last summer? So here it is some 9 months later and my old brain forgets, but didn't Cindy have a grand opening? I thought maybe Chicken Alice was the new mama and it was her grand opening but then you guys say she stay broke, so what gives? I went in last night but the raffle and prizes seemed like a joke. The food was mediocre and I was never a fan of the "theme" nights. Food is just as good or probably better on a normal night when Yumi or one of the other bartenders cooks. School girl night (which is / was tonight) could be ok for the younger spinners but everyone else just looks dumb. Last night's evening gown thing just looked like girls in really bad prom or bride's maid dresses. I see someone finally used white out and changed all the sign to "lucky" instead of "lacky" drawing.

M69, you must not have been in Pharaoh since it was still Asia because that is the set-up it has been since the change over and remodeling back in July or August. You are right though as that back area is good for play, but someone is always going in or out of the kitchen and sometime customers use that entrance / exit.
