I'm not here to bust anyone's balls. Mw Jrp has probably made more posts instructing newbies to RTFF than pics he's posted. Not everyone is as bold as he is, so I'm going to make a similar post from a different perspective.
I myself was a shy one when I first joined USASG. I would PM other members asking for intel when I myself had zero posts too. After a month or so, I finally RTFF. I then made my first few posts; all of them asking for intel with nothing to offer in return. I was constantly shot down by seniors, and came to the conclusion that they were all a bunch of assholes who thought they were special. I finally started getting out on my own, building some experience in the hobby through CL and BP. I came back here and began posting again, on my experiences, not just asking questions. After about 10 or so of those posts, I was able to get some decent intel from other members, but not everyone will provide intel to a regular member. And some (myself included) are even skittish about seniors as well. If I don't see at least three quality reports in the past three months, I won't provide any intel.
By the time I became a senior, I certainly wasn't an expert, but I was knowledgeable, and completely understood why those seniors reacted the way they did to me at first, we're here to learn, and indulge in the hobby while doing our damnedest to keep each other, and the ladies, out of the gray-bar hotel. That's the idea here, you learn how to be a savvy and smart monger. And you must give to receive.
