There are way too many Monday morning quarterbacks on this site who are all too ready to tell you how they would have handled something or give you a brow beating about how something should have been handled. I would prefer to hear how someone actually DID handle a similar situation or a well-reasoned analysis and commentary that shows some thought and causes one to reflect.
The discussions regarding Camden and mongers facing tickets and legal battles in court is a prime example. There seem to be a lot of what we would have called "shit-house lawyers" where I grew up, who come on like gangbusters and tell you it is no biggie and how easy it is to beat the charges or the tickets in the Camden courts. It doesn't sound that way for the guys who actually are facing that, or from guys who actually have faced it. Regardless of the nature of the charge or ticket, at minimum it seems to involve an investment of your time and a considerable expense to be fighting anything in court, and requires a good attorney with experience in the Camden courts in defending your particular offense. The bottom line in all of this is obviously not to get a ticket, but that is easier said than done. You can be and have to be much more careful mongering in Camden than in Philly. The reasons for that seem primarily to be twofold: mongers stick out like a sore thumb in Camden as opposed to blending in on the K (except not so much at night, another reason I prefer day mongering) and LE there use local ordinances like loitering for the purposes of soliciting prostitution, or visiting a disorderly area for an unlawful purpose ( such as solicitation of prostitution), to hand out tickets like candy. Tickets may be relatively easy to beat from a legal perspective, by just showing up in court (since LE often does not) or lack of convincing evidence, or the relative ease of getting reduced charges if you fight them with a good lawyer at your side, but all those legal niceties are little comfort to the guy directly involved. There can always be good advice to follow in any situation involving LE, such as remembering to exercise your fourth amendment (protection from unreasonable search and seizure) and fifth amendment (protection from self incrimination) rights in a polite and reasonable way. Beyond the soundness of such advice, I would rather hear the first-person story of a monger who has experienced something like this as a lesson to be learned than all the blowhards who proceed to tell him how THEY would have done it!

Not wanting to pay 1500 for a lawyer, I talked to the prosecutor on court day. Plead guilty, paid a fine over 200. If no recurrence for x period of time offense goes away. Worked for me. No record of offense today.
Three of these tickets leads to a permanent record.

All the should have and could have remarks get a little old and some were a little abusive. I handled my situation the way I thought best and wheather I was stupid or otherwise makes no difference to anyone else. Experience is something you achieve through trial and error with hopes you don't get burned too much in the process. I attempted to get all the legal masterminds to tell their experience's as a way to learn, however the well seems to have run dry of information and the lawyers have run for the hills. Go figure!

When a monger is brave enough to admit an error or a very difficult / awkward situation he has experienced, we should be appreciative of what it teaches us, and not be so ready to jump all over him. Some mongers are quick to judge and be Monday morning quarterbacks, as I have already addressed.
In my view there were far too many who treated you harshly, Johnboy, in the South Jersey Forum as if you were stupid for getting in that situation and handled it badly. Fantasy is expounding how easy it is to avoid tickets and charges (it isn't; however, there are some things to remember in the Bill of Rights that, if properly exercised, that might make such problems easier to defend in court,) and how easy it is to defend tickets and charges or have them reduced (that may be true, but it doesn't come without a cost of time and money and / or having the right legal representation) Reality is sweating out the negative possible outcomes, committing your time to court appearances and seeking legal advice, paying money for legal fees and fines, having to stand before the judge, and living with the consequences of a court decision.
Again, thank you for sharing your experience. It taught me a LOT more about mongering in Camden than a paragraph about how some guy got a BJ from a girl with a vague description, whose name he can't remember, and sketchy details about the encounter.
When reading the recent legal difficulties of Johnboy and others in Camden for solicitation-related offenses, and Love to Monger's 10 year old ticketing experience for intent to buy a controlled substance, they reminded me of the only 2 run-ins I have ever had with Philly's finest (except for a large recent traffic accident; that had nothing to do with mongering, but it would be a lesson well learned for anyone involved in a traffic accident with police on the scene, especially here in Philly)
These incidents happened many years ago, so long in fact, that I wouldn't even be able to recall the exact years. But, it was in the vicinity of 10 to 12.
The first involved parking with a SW. I still do parking dates, but not nearly so many as I once did, for many reasons in addition to LE exposure. During this particular incident I was parked at night in what I thought was a relatively secluded area. We had only been there 5 minutes or so when a squad car pulled up silently behind us with its lights off. It was so pitch black there that I didn't even see it in my mirrors. My only guess is that a pedestrian or nearby resident (although it bordered an abandoned industrial area and houses were a good distance away) had alerted LE, or maybe the squad car had seen us pull into the area and were suspicious. Otherwise, how did they know to sneak up on us so quickly, quietly and unobtrusively like that?
All of a sudden the beacon beam from the squad car was directly shining on us in the back seat from a 3/4 angle. All she was wearing was her undies, and I had my pants and boxers pulled completely down to the floor. She was in the process of sucking my cock. Talk about being caught red-handed! They allowed us to get dressed and then questioned us separately (a reason to get a story straight between you if you do a parking date). Very fortunately she was a burban girl just trying to make a little extra dough, and had no priors, no outstanding warrants and was carrying no drugs. My record at that time (and still to today) was squeaky clean: no tickets, no arrests, no convictions, not even a moving violation or a parking ticket.
Thoughts were racing through my head. They could certainly try to charge us with solicitation of prostitution but there was no evidence unless we incriminated ourselves. I was hoping she was smart enough not to do that, and she didn't, nor did I. However, they pressed us very hard to do so by telling us it would go a lot easier for us if we simply told them the truth. One charge I knew they may have us dead to rights on was public lewdness, although, even this might be very defensible, given where we were. Nonetheless, you can easily be charged with anything, as LE in Camden has shown us on numerous occasions. Fortunately, Philly LE have more important things to worry about to allocate time for court appearances, like robberies, shootings, battery, drug offenses and murder.
They eventually cut the SW loose and she was allowed to walk away. I thought this was a very good sign, but they kept me there for about another 30 minutes, seemingly checking out my paperwork, my record and the record on my vehicle, which I knew would all be in order and spotless. If their tactic was to scare me shitless, they succeeded. They left with a stern warning. For a long time I did no parking dates, and even today, I am extremely cautious about doing so.
The second incident involved a bad pick-up and is a primary reason why I have consistently warned against doing any pick-ups directly on the K.
I was traveling west on a side street approaching a "hot SW corner" on the K. A SW was clearly posted on the corner ahead of me. I stopped 1/4 block short of the K to get her attention, but she was focused on the traffic on the Ave and didn't turn around to see me. So, instead of driving to the corner and motioning for her to meet me further back down the block and circling back to pick her up, I did the convenient and boneheaded thing of picking her up right on the corner. This was bad for two reasons. This was a stretch of the Ave that had a fairly clear line of sight in both directions, and pulling up like that didn't enable you to see what was driving in either direction, so you were picking her up blind so to speak. The second problem was that the street dead ended at the K and you had to make a turn onto the Ave and travel for a block or two before getting off again.
When I turned onto the K I saw a squad car two cars behind me and I was thinking: "shit! " I hoped he wouldn't follow, but no such luck. He followed me for several blocks. Eventually the car directly behind me veered off and LEO was right behind me. He followed me for a few more blocks and then turned on the bubble gum machines. I pulled over, hoping against hope that it was meant for someone else, but he got out and approached my window. It was a single LEO in the car. That was a bit unusual as patrols usually travel in pairs. I noticed from his badge that his assigned district was not this district. I did not know if that meant anything in terms of his "jurisdiction" in certain matters, like this one (and I still don't know, unless a fellow monger can enlighten me and us on these legalities and / or police procedure regarding this in Philly). However, my guess was that this was better than not, and my further guess was that, since he was driving alone, that he may have likely been returning the squad car to his district HQ and just happened to see me in the process.
He checked my paperwork, inspected my car (a reason always to have this stuff in order), and ran a background check. Then he came to my window and asked me what was going on. I asked him politely if I had done something wrong, and he said "You know what I mean, " and pointed to my passenger and said: "Her. " I told him I was giving her a ride. He said, "Look, I am out here every day. I know what goes on at that corner. I saw you pick her up. " I simply said nothing. He motioned for her to get out and cut us both loose. He didn't even give us a warning, or check her for warrants, but I was still scared shitless.
Later I had a date with that very same SW and she told me she recognized the LEO and was pretty sure he recognized her. So, that may have been a primary reason he was so sure about stopping us, in addition to the obvious corner.
These stories have several instructive morals IMHO:
1. Be VERY cautious when you do a parking date. I was very lucky. You may not be so fortunate.
2. Don't do pick-ups directly on the stroll!
3. Philly LE seem to have a lot more to worry about than ticketing or arresting SWs and mongers. However, I wouldn't rely on their priorities and discretionary leniency to always cut you a break. They have bigger fish to fry on the K, like drugs and violence, but SWs don't have a pile of outstanding warrants, priors, and lock-ups for nothing.
4. When you pick up a SW, establish a consistent believable story between you as to why you are traveling together, because, if you are stopped you may be questioned separately. Stick to your stories!
5. If you are stopped, be polite, but don't incriminate yourself or voluntarily agree to a search (even if you have nothing to hide). You don't have to be a legal smart-ass, but you should appropriately exercise your 4th and 5th amendment rights and know how to do so. The links provided in this Forum to the videos on that are very instructive in this regard.
6. It is far better to be lucky than smart! :D

When you see a SW you like, you can park on a side street off the K and approach her on foot to avoid a pick-up right on the Ave. This accomplishes a number of goals: 1. Walking means a long hike between "hot corners. " It's not like there is a SW on every corner. It might take a few passes to find one you like. Riding in a car is the best way to do this, and a lot safer.2. You get to see the SW up close and get a sense of her before making a final decision on the date.3. Walking once you have scoped out the SW you want allows you to more carefully view the area for all potential problems, especially any nearby marked or unmarked LE.

I may not always agree with your statements or care for all your reviews, but thats a matter of taste and not character. I'm glad you had the balls to admit your close calls with LE. Even though you were lucky, had the officer wanted, they could still have given you a ticket with no evidence. A ticket you would most certainly have to defend. I really appreciate this discussion because you just pointed out a few more things that new mongers need to learn, and hopefully not the way you did. The 22 rules are required reading without a doubt, but listening to a fellow monger tell it in story is priceless. Be safe and happy hunting!

I wasn't one of them, and it wasn't because I didn't think the photo gallery was a useful thing to have. I figured that this website was going to be what it was going to be, and complaining about it wasn't going to change much. Besides that fact, I have my own private pic gallery both in what I publish here and what I have privately. 90% of the other pics on here that are worthwhile looking at are taken by a handful of mongers, and I already know who they are.
HOWEVER, I would still contend, as I have said before, that most of the pics in the gallery fall into the following categories: 1. Out-of-focus and / or long-range street shots of unidentified girls, some of whom may or may not be SWs, and so what if they are; they are just public eye candy and the pics are of little value in the way of intel as to names or performance. I posted just two public eye candy pics in my Jersey thread this past summer, and there was an uproar about it, even though I clearly indicated she wasn't a SW, and they were taken from the rear. It just goes to show you that when you are a big target you attract a lot of "envy shrapnel" even though others may be doing the same or far worse. 2. Advertising by internet girls. 3. Photos that are way too tiny to see and aren't worth opening (the gallery should show the dimensions of a photo; it would save a LOT of unnecessary time bothering to open these). 5. Self-taken amateur pics. 6. Joke photos.
If I want to gawk at hot pictures there are FAR better on line sources for that. As a monger, there is relatively little useful I can glean from the photo gallery. If I want to find real SWs in other cities, with a few exceptions, SW pics are posted very few and far between. If I want to find real SWs right here in Philly and Camden, we have one of the most well documented pic collections of any city in the country, but about half of that in terms of number of SWs, reports and pics are already contributed by yours truly.
So, the bottom line is that having the photo gallery or not having the photo gallery is not a big deal to me. It is nice to have, but it could be a lot better in many ways, just like many aspects of this website could be better. I have made such suggestions in the past both publicly and privately, but after your recommendations seem to fall on deaf ears at a 100% rate, the effort soon loses its appeal. I have endlessly appealed to have a SW index back, and even volunteered to administer it. Hearing zero response on this over and over, I finally decided to do what needs to be done when you are trying to get someone to do something and they don't do it: you do it yourself. So, I created my own alphabetic index by year and by stroll to every SW report and pic series I have ever done. I am thinking of doing the same regarding different subjects I have written about here, because it has accumulated into quite a body of work.
