Lisa Ling is doing a report on illegal massage parlors in the USA It will air on December 6th on CNN. It will force changes.
You think so? She isn't really a bomb-dropping journalist IMO Not aware of any big stories she broke that led to controversy or change. Probably the biggest furor about AMPs arose from Robert Kraft's arrest. Do you think her story could reach that level?
Lisa Ling is more of a TV essayist who explores a topic in mild depth (though certainly from particular bias). I'd expect her to interview customers, workers and even owners. Now. A fair piece would show that the trafficking allegations are almost totally bullshi, that the workers and owners are mostly honest people who make huge money alhough it can be a tough and isolated way to live. And that the customers are normal dudes from all walks of life, some of which carry on relationships or even marry spa workers. That would be in my view and accurate piece.
Maybe Lisa Ling will show that. I think she says she is a feminist so maybe she will go on a crusade. We'll see.

She's not exactly Barbara Walters. Kraft skated due to police overreach. That case shows that police can't do these raids like they think they can. Some places probably breathed sigh of relief after the Kraft situation. I think the focus is more on the human trafficking deal with terrible living conditions for some of these girls, than guys like us looking for a HJ between consenting adults.

Blah blah blah blah. Nice hat and boots loser. Your tax dollars at work. This has nothing to do with trafficking and everything to do with the moral majority deciding what's right / wrong for you. Texas would just assume fry you for spitting on the sidewalk. I've been hobbying for longer than I care to admit, and rarely have I encountered someone I believe was being trafficked (yeah sure. There may be more than I believed but LEO would have you believe everyone escorting or providing massages is being trafficked).
Want to stop the trafficking. Lose the puritanical laws outlawing prostitution and trafficking becomes much, much more difficult. Customers not fearful of getting busted would be enabled to alert authorities.
I did encounter a girl a number of years back. Young girl (gorgeous), very high end hotel and obviously not running the show on her own (it was incredibly obvious). I felt awful for her yet was unwilling to throw my life away by alerting the local scum (LEO). I left some $$ to appease whomever was pulling the strings to keep her out of trouble without engaging and left.
You would think these two faced self serving CT/Mass politicians would legalize our hobby. They are talking about legalizing just about everything else why not what two adults mutually agree upon.

Do you really think prostitution is a choice? Do you really think girls grow up saying I want to be a prostitute.

Not everyone achieves their childhood dreams and does what they need to survive. Long before you and I there was prostitution and long after us it will continue. The question is, should we allow them to practice their profession where they can be safe and clean or should they continue to be pimped, beaten and arrested for something none of us can stop.

It's safer for everyone if it's legal both providers and mongers. Plus it's an additional source of tax income.
Agreed. It's safer for everyone if it's legal both providers and mongers. They act like they do to get your money. A maid made a choice to clean toilets In stead of doing something illegal. So don't think prostitution is fun for the prostitute. I've known enough prostitutes to know it's not fun for them to get their body's used and abused.

The effect is to allow the provider to call authorities if abused by pimps, clients, etc. Leaving patronizing illegal is the attempt to reduce the market.
Just texted Empire Bristol and they temp closed. Nothing left near Bristol it seems.

Brick and Henry, it could be you're not getting responses because you're new members with very few posts. Lots of seniors don't trust. So get active, post your reviews and wisdom, and you'll be gradually welcomed in the community.
Stay safe.
