Crossed pedwest today and we go to this little restaurant that is right across the street from pedwest crossing. We been to this place 4-5 times ask for Mario great guy will take care you shrimp fajitas are very good and only 8 bucks. Said he works Nextdoor also at the strip club they just opened up. Could not check it out as I was with some people for dinner.

Any info on the strip club that is 20 seconds from the pedwest.

I've had good luck with mileroticos as well, but as FanService mentions you need to be careful. It is like the Mexican Backpage, so there are scammers and B&S bitches for sure. But it's a bit safer than Backpage was because they aren't dodging law enforcement like we have to. So if you just use comon sense you'll find some great girls there. Stick with outcall though. Don't go motoring up to some puta's house in Tijuana.

I'll be in San Diego next week, 7/29-8/2, and I was hoping to visit TJ for the first time. Depending on my work plans, I might only go down in the evenings. My two big questions are safety and money.

All the websites you can search at work tell you to not go to the red light districts alone at night. Which is exactly what I want to do. I'm clean cut and not imposing looking. I think I can avoid trouble if I see it. Should I go to the areas around HK anyway?

What money and how much should I expect to spend for some tail and tacos? Should I only take dollars or get pesos from an ATM? What's best?

NR.[/QUOTE]You can use dollars or pesos. It doesn't matter. You can change dollars into pesos at any number of money changing places in San Ysidro before crossing the border. If you decide to use dollars, don't go down with a lot of large bills and I would avoid using atms in Mexico. Don't expect to pay a taxi driver with a 100 dl bill. All bars in the zona will have change for large bills. If your new to getting down to the zona I would avoid walking, especially a night. Cross the border and take a taxi. They're everywhere and will do the 5 minute drive for 5 dls. Tip them a dollar. So for 6 bucks down and 6 bucks back you won't have to take a chance on getting lost or worse. As far as how much your going to spend, that all depends. I probably wouldn't go with less than 300 dls and if your going to be running multiple girls up at HK or AB, you'll need more. I'm a regular so I stay away from those places. The zona is very safe. Once outside that 2-3 block radius is a different story. Stay inside the zona and you will not have issues. Do not get really drunk where it's noticeable. Be aware of your surroundings! I would not buy drugs here on my first trip either. Even pills or a little weed might bring unnecessary problems. NR.[/QUOTE]If you're just going to the zona and sticking to the tourist-centric bars, it's very easy and safe. For all intents and purposes, if it's your first trip and you're going solo, just stick to the street that the taxi will drop you off at (Calle Coahuila) in front of HK. This short street. Going from west to east and you'll be dropped off on the west end. Has a very popular taco cart, then Hong Kong, then Las Chavelas (you can skip this one on your first rodeo), then a locked up church with probably a beggar or a mariachi band playing music in front of it, then Adelitas, then Gloria Bar (you can skip this your first rodeo), then a very popular fish taco cart at the end of the street. If you are the type to keep your wits about you, you'll also have no problems going to Chicago Club (you'll clearly see it and the guys inviting you to go there when you're by the fish taco cart) or Tropical Bar (directly across the street from Hong Kong).

If you're going down every single night next week, I'd say just do the two big ones (Hong Kong, Adelitas) on Monday to get the gist of how TJ works. The constant people asking for handouts, the masero games, how much money you want to spend once actually there, etc. $5 is enough for a couple of tacos and that's all you'll need to eat if it's just a few hours an evening. Monday is also the slowest night of the week which makes it an easier night to see how the girls operate. Expect to pay $6 for every drink you buy and $9 for every drink you buy a girl. If you like to spend a lot of time with her before pulling the trigger, that's a lot of $9 drinks you're forking up. Room I think is $16 a session (I always stay there so I don't know the actual per-30 minute-rate) and the girls will accept anywhere between 60-100 . Lower end for Adelitas and higher end for HK. I'd never pay $100 but so many ask that now that it seems that is a popular donation.

Come Tuesday you'll be ready to try all the bars on that street, and if you're feeling frisky you'll try the numerous street girls on this block and the next block (Hong Kong has two entrances. The one on the "main" street where the taxi will drop you off and if you walk straight through the club the "back alley" entrance opens you up to a bigger world of street girls and more local-centric bars. For your first week, I'd skip going to any of those bars, but I personally like La Carretta and Playboy. They are hole in the wall places but the drinks are much cheaper.

Which reminds me, Chavelas and Tropical are 2-for-1's on guy drinks. Order a beer and they bring you two of them for the price of the 1. Don't worry about getting pesos to be honest. If this is a one-off trip for you and you're only down for a couple of hours each evening, it probably won't be worth it to you for the couple of dollars savings. Anyone that offers you drugs (and a lot of them will), just say no. Anyone offering to be friendly, politely decline (unless it's clearly another group of gringos inside one of the bars having fun. I'm talking more of a solo person, especially out on the street). If someone other than a chica is asking too many questions, just let them know your friend is upstairs with a girl or you're walking back to your friends now. Newby-ism is easily seen, and a solo newby can be a scam target. Not a violent scam. Just a somehow get money out of you scam.

Until you have a feel for the place, take a taxi or Uber from the border to the Zona. Just tell the guy "Hong Kong" and hand the guy $5 when you get there. Yes the experts will tell you to pay with pesos and it's only $2 or that you should haggle with the guy, but it's only $5. Just pay and be done. Pay for everything in dollars unless you are really good with math or are really familiar with currency conversion and aware of prices. Everyone works in dollars in the zona anyway. Even the bars set prices in dollars and their peso price fluctuates with the exchange rate, so sticking with dollars won't screw you.

How much will you spend? How much do you want to spend? You could roll into Chicago Club, pick a girl, take her upstairs for 30 minutes and walk out having paid $85 -- $60 (girl), $15 (room), and $10 cab back and forth. Or you can sit in a bar and buy drinks all night long, flirting with girls and buying $9 ficha drinks for 15 minutes of attention until you decide on which one you will take. When I go I plan on $300 per night for a room of my own, two trips upstairs, drinks, fichas, and miscellaneous tips. If you are a big drinker it could be more. If you are a big watcher it could be less.

If you really want to save some money, head all the way through Hong Kong and out the back door into what's called "the alley". It's a real street, with storefronts and stuff, so don't be scared by the name. The street is lines with street girls who will quote you $20 for 20 minutes, plus $5-6 for the room. Some of them are as pretty as any girl in a club, and can be very sweet. But that rate will be for them to pull down their pants and for you to stick it in them (covered, of course) in one position. If you want them to get nude, suck you (covered), and switch positions, they will add on enough that the total will come close to a bar girl's rate. But it can still be fun to walk the alley and look at who is available.

If you have some Spanish this all becomes easier, but you'll be fine with nothing but English if you have to. PM me for specifics if you need.

While I do enjoy the HK club, I'm looking at trying some other places. It's a bit out of the main area, but has anyone tried the Deja Vu Club? I'm guessing it's pretty much the same thing as the HK, but there's nothing else around it. I see that they also have a "Spa Package" available but it doesn't go into any detail about what's included in it. Does anyone have any other out of the way places that they could recommend?
