I've always warned guys about divulging to providers on here who you are. They sometimes will use this forum as a kind of reference before they see you. After reading this article, I am even more convinced that maintaining your anonymity is so important. Oftentimes, guys get on here giving very intimate and descriptive detailed about their sexual expatiates and the amount of money they paid. For me personally, not a very wise thing to do. Why?
When you read the article you will see how apparently this guy did something that peeked LEO's interest and they started asking people who this person was- he was a reviewer on a sex forum where guys talk about their experiences. Well, as I know you all can read, you will see where some way they were able to track him down. More than likely through a provider or someone that knew his true identity. I am not trying to tell anyone what to do but I never tell a provider who I am on here because consider this scenario:
I go see a provider who is also a member on this board. It becomes apparent that she and I know each other on the board- you know how we converse with one another openly. Anyhow, LEO does a sting and snags her. They are aware that she's seen certain people on the board before as evidenced by the dialogue between them. LEO presses her to give up your identity and she folds and GOTCHA!
Simple isn't it! So take it for what its worth. I hope you keep your identity anonymous because you know LEO trolls this site. I'm noticing more and more that when I look at shame shame shame newspaper, there are very little men but certainly more women. The info guys find on here has probably helped many stay safer. Who knows. Anyway, just my $0. 02.

I will tell you how she can provide LEO the info they need. In the past, a provider has come on here and said she'd see someone on here as long as they could prove they're a senior member or a part of this board. If I send her a PM or something letting her know my username, etc and provide my cell number and we make contact with one another, she now has info that can be linked back to me.
How you might ask; she simply has something that LEO can trace."Your cell number." Some time ago (won't go into details) but a provider gave LEO a friend's cell number because he took some personal article from her apartment because she tried to rip him off. LEO came to the apartment and got the cell number and called him to say that if he didn't bring it back, he'd come to his house where his wife lived and take him to jail. Leo started telling him where he lived and his wife's name- they have the technology. You should have seen how fast he brought that thing back! LOL.
Anyway, if you ever watch some of these real life detective programs when they are trying to catch criminals, you will see that all they need is a little info to crack a case. Now honestly, Admin2, you will probably say why would we give a provider our actual cell number that can be traced directly back to you and I will respond that you have a darn good point! If we continue to do this, we should all have cell phones that cannot be traced- like those boost or track phones. But guarantee you most guys have phones that can be traced back to them.
All the provider has to do is prove (provide LEO a copy of PM) that the fella who provided his number contacted her (via PM) especially since some of us might rarely delete our PM's. And in order to set up meeting, you know the client will likely call or text the provider in order to set up meeting of which LEO can prove by checking your phone record. Even if you tell LEO it wasn't you, then they'll ask how come you continued to make contact with her if it wasn't you with said number? People will sometimes do anything to save their butts. Keep in mind, I am talking about a situation where a lot of details are being given about your session along with the amount of money you paid. Not something I'd divulge.

Here is the story: a friend picked up this SW and ended up tricking her into getting out of his car; he came on here and wrote a review about it and the way it happened. It so happens, the SW came on here and read the review and knew exactly who he was. Though he never admitted to it to her, he knew he was the one she was talking about. So giving certain details is not advisable because certain situations can be traced back to you. Notice when I talked about the personal article in my other response, I never mentioned what article it was because what if LEO kept a record of that call and know the details of it?
And she was a crackhead and figured out who he was! Go figure!

Hint if you purchase a pay as you go phone do not use your credit card as that can be traced. Cash is king.

1) Buy a Tracfone & airtime card (pay cash & do not use a store's rewards card) , I second Admin's Wally World recommendation.
2) Take a laptop to a free public wifi hotspot (McDonalds, Krystal, Starbucks, Panera Bread, etc. Usually you can just sit in the parking lot & get online). Do not use your home or office network for this step!
3) Get online & create a gmail or yahoo email address using a fake name (in this hobby you should always use a "Stage Name" with providers, not your real name)
4) Now go to Tracfone's site and register your phone using your fake name & email address & load your airtime on the phone.
5) Now your set. Going forward only use your fake name & email address with providers & always pay CASH for your airtime cards. Also password protect the phone & if you have a SO keep it hidden.
These steps will help to protect your anonymity. Also, you can use the same fake email address when you register for sites like this one. I really prefer this site to others as I know that the servers are located outside of the US where LEO & the courts have no jurisdiction!

To add to the paranoia. All internet traffic can be traced directly to a chip on your laptop, cell phone or other digital communications device. This address is called a MAC address. Although the amount of investigation involved to trace it / associate it with your username and computer would likely be more work than its worth to nail a Mongerer. However, if you are using at work, and your IT department is sharp, it can easlily associate your web traffic to your computer, if they monitor traffic.
