I was told "Don't ever be picking up a girl in this town again or you will be doing hard time!" and drove away. My erstwhile date was heading into the apartment complex with her beer (which, BTW, was NOT open) and the cops roared off.

Seems they followed me all the way into the valley. Except for the one cruiser, none of the cars looked even like your usual UC unit.

The back seat has been removed, everything in the car was just piled on the floor, and my mobile phone had it's handset cord cut into about 10 pieces. I replaced the cord and moved on, but I was scared shitless for a while.

Didn't stop me from mongering, but it did make me a hell of a lot more aware of what was going on around me.

The thing about AMP is that if LE catches you in them you are not in public. You are in a closed room. And if I understand the law right you have to be in public or in public view to get in trouble. And if you stick to your guns and tell them that you only paid for a massage there is no way to prove you did anything else. I have talked to friends who have been inside AMP when LE came and all that happen was they took their name. They threaten to call home but it never happen.

Bottom line with SW's. Like AMP I don't talk about money or services right away. If a SW doesnt get in my car or tries to talk money while outside my car I'm gone. I little prevention like watching her a while goes a long way.

Yeah, but the cops *are* the ones making the proposition, which they're not supposed to do if memory serves. That qualifies as entrapment, because you can't prove you were going to offer money at that point. You probably played it just slightly naive enough to get away with it.

Hey Ricman, I know what that's like. I had a temporary lapse of judgement that damn near got me arrested. Four years ago, I picked up a hot blonde girl on Harbor and Chapman. She was short and petite with huge tits. So I'm so excited, I decided to skip my usual routine of driving a decent distance away from Harbor to do the deed, and pulled into the parking lot behind one of those big hotels on that corner. We parked between a van and a sedan with really really dark tinted windows. She went down on me, and right when I finished and she lifted her head up, we hear a door from the sedan slam shut and see a cop (who was hiding in the back seat of his car)march over to the passenger side. The girl yells to me "Go! Let's go get outta here!!!" So like an idiot, I started the car up but the cop screams "shut that car off! NOW!!" I sheepishly turn the car off, and he opens the passenger door and pulls the girl out. As soon as he sees her, he kinda softens up and says "hey ******, what are you doing here? I told you to get off these streets." He takes her and my drivers license back to his car. After a few minutes, he comes back, throws the license to me and says, "if I ever see you here again, you're going to jail." I started the car up and quickly got out of there.

A week later, I run into the girl again. She told me that after I drove away, he let her go. The reason he and another cop were hiding out in the parking lot was because they were responding to complaints about drug deals being made there. She said she knew the cop because he had stopped her twice before, but didn't arrest her; he would just yell at her and then let her leave. I wonder if maybe he was one of her regulars, but I didn't bother to ask her. So that was the closest I've ever been to getting arrested. Unbelievable how I got a BJ from a SW while a cop was sitting right next to us and watching the whole time. I guess the John Gods were looking out for me that night!

This is one reason why I avoid businesses. There is a greater likelihood that someone else will see you.

If you suspect a SW is a decoy tell her to get in the car first and discuss things after you have driven off and done the check.

If you suspect the cops are conducting a sting hang out in the area and watch. Sometimes if I am still uncertain I will get out and walk around. The advantage here is that you can observe things from all angles and see if a cop is hiding. Even if you don't see any cops around don't let this fool you. The stings have become more sophisticated and the cops hide very carefully. Quite often you will not see any cops in back of the building. A few years the back the cops were conducting a sting and there was no cop cars around. The decoys would tell the poor guy to meet him in back and the cop would hide in a unmarked vehicle.

Also don't let a dry spell fool you into thinking that the heat is off..Quite often the cops will conduct stings when there little or no action.

1] Harbor Blvd, what an unusual street you picked to get trapped
Harbor = main SW activity

2] LE may assert you were seen circling the area (cruising)
3] If you ever have been police logged as having been stopped in the area and warned not to slow car down and talk to probable SW, you really are screwed
4] Why did you stop and talk to a decoy pedestrian? She did not wave to you and beg assistance.
5] If it's late at night and you're stopping for pedestrians ... just the time and desertedness makes you look guilty

When I cruised (converted to AMPs long ago) my typical question when first stopping for a hooker was "Looking for some company?". It conveyed that I was offering more than taxi cab services but, if she is microphoned up, didn't say anything incriminating (IMHO).

And of course, if she answers a question with a question ...RUN !

The couple of times I suspected I was talking to a decoy I just uttered "I'm sorry, I thought you were someone that I knew. So sorry that I bothered you" and left.

With that on the LE microphone what else could she say then "Get outta here!"

Picking up SW's is still safe so long as you take the proper precautions. LA county is a bit more risky due the "civil intent to solicit law". Bu just remember to use the word "date". The Costa Mesa cops used this as the basis for "criminal intent to solicit" last year.

I agree with you 100% Longrod. There are great risks to SW mongering and bad consequences. But like an alcoholic or drug addict I can't let go of it. In alternative mongering, for me anyways, there isn't the thrill of the chase, the flash of thigh on a dimly lit street corner, the show of cleavage as an SW leans into the passenger window. In alternative mongering I would miss the special "strut" of the SW as she moves down the sidewalk and the "look" that only she can give you as you drive by.

The Costa Mesa police are no long enforcing "criminal intent to solicit". This law was challenged in the California supreme court. This is the reason why Ricman was not arrested.

Now this is different from "civil intent to solicit". LA has this law, but they don't actively enforce this law on a regular basis. Apparently this law was challenged and the DA told LE to ease up. The cops still enforce the law, but only when they actually catch a guy with a SW. So if the cops stop the SW and guy while they are parked, but not having sex the cops can use this law to impound your car. When the cops first started using this law they were impounding guys a car for merely giving a girl a ride. I would be interested find out how many times the DA has used this law. The problem is that I don't think you can do a subject search on court records.

I hear ya. The action on Harbor, as we're aware, has been very sporadic. Daytime was popping for awhile but now the best action I've seen has been after 11pm. But don't listen to me. I rarely, if ever, cruise. In fact the only reason I bumped into Dee was that I was making an run to Alberto's because I was craving some Asada Fries. If you really want my advice I'd say stick to T-E-R or T-S-R.

I've never really been much of a day cruiser so I can't really comment on those times. However, over the many years that I've cruised this track, some of the best talent I've found has been between 11:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.

For guys who enjoy car dates, by all means, these are the best times to hook-up, as most nearby residents are asleep. In the wintertime, when it gets dark early, I've also picked up many SW's shortly after sunset and had luck up until around 9:00 p.m or so. I always seemed to notice a fall off between the hours of 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

One Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m. I spotted a few really cute BSW's.
