Korean Bar Reports

I am writing a cautionary report for guys that break some cardinal rules when going to KBs. The #1 rule being don't go alone and get drunk. Especially if you hand over your credit card for a bar tab. You may as well hand over your wallet and say "RAPE ME!"

Went over to cameltoes on Friday by myself cause I was waiting for a friend to show up so that we could go to 939 to see some titties. Sat with JGirl Momi who was looking kinda hot in her glittery dress that night. 30 minutes in I get a text from my homie saying "I tired, going go home noe." by this time I'm kinda feeling kud and never like walk to 939 by myself so I decided to stay for a little bit (BIG MISTAKE)

So I get dragged into the room and I get conned into buy into buy not 1 bottle of champagne but 3. MUTHER EFFIN 3 MUTHER EFFIN BOTTLES! And got only BBJCIM and a GRAND on my credit card bill with NOTHING to show for it.

I coulda gotten a big screen LCD TV for that shit. So my brothers DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go solo to a KB and hand over the credit card and get drunk. I think I'ma stay away from KBs from now on, I need to cut down my credit card debt. I got to grow a spine one day. Maybe this kick in the balls will do it for me.

Not to be unsympathetic, but I agree with JR in that technically, you weren't ROBbed since you did get a BJ out of the transaction and you got to CIM. AND you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. But thank you for sharing a lesson.

The object lesson to n00bs is that even when you know the rules, the little head can and will lead you astray.

Myself, I do as George Thorogood and drink alone. (What do I need witnesses for anyway?) I keep cards planted in my wallet which is either in my sock or a buttoned-down pocket. Object is to make it a PITA to get to it. My budget for the night is in the form of cash on a money clip. When that thing runs out, the party is over.

However, don't we all say we got robbed when we knowingly or unknowingly overspend for goods and services and later have the buyer's remorse? What do you call it when you paid say 10bucks for an item at a store and later find same thing at longs for dollar? I would say, damn! They ripped me off! Thats just my opinion and not trying to start anything, hehe. I'm sure most of us been there. Done that doing the lolo spend too much and its OUR FAULT no matter what. Of coarse I sometimes also say drunk no count, LOL.

Not one to criticize and assess another's mistake (s) , thanks for letting us know about the feast held in your honor. The nature of this beast relies on weaknesses in order to thrive and nobody's perfect. Take care and boycott nekos.

Checked out D Amours over the weekend. Sat with Honey. Taiwanese in her 30s. On the petite side. Said she use to work at Moonflowers before. At first, didn't care to have her company when walking into D Amours but, got approached right away. Got her a drink and wrapped my arm around her while caressing her thigh. Got some kisses and had a fun conversation with her. She had heavy lipstick on that I had to wipe my lips. She's pretty cool to talk to and joke around with. She prefers to drink beer as she lives far and has to drive home. It didn't bother me. She didn't get up and leave like other girls would. Stayed there for an hour and got her 4 drinks. She asked if I wanted to join her at Evergreens after but, naw I was good already. Hugged and kissed her outside and left. She was sociable with a nice attitude. I don't mind having her company again if I see her at the bar.

But, I guess if you look at it this way, how many guys you know have gotten BBBJCIM from Momi at Camels? I know someone can say they can get BBBJCIM from seeing Monica or Coco at Kison for alot less but, alot of guys have so, its nothing new and surprising. I can post I got BBBJCIM from Monica but, its just another repetitive report on her. Someone can just go Kison and get the same thing. New Casino is a strange issue. Word is that the owner wanted a cut of the monthly action in addition to monthly rent. Nobody is dumb to fall for that as the economy makes it hard enough to pay the rent. Hopefully the owner gets smart and leases out the place so he can make money again. Another issue was that he wanted someone to pay the back rent. No new mama wants to start out in the hole so that would also be hard to swallow.

Word is also out that the girls will be back at evergreens / mayas on April 1. Hopefully miki will GTF out of there. She is benefitting from Maya being there (with all her customers) so it might be hard to get rid of her.

There are other bars on life support. I figure only a matter of time before club business dies. The existing tomorrow location wasn't a money maker so after the money train runs dry who knows what will happen there.

Let's hope that the old Maya's opens up as a bar again but it won't work it ann takes over it again.

With the slow / bad economy the bars just need to keep their heads above the water until footbal season (hopefully). The only problem is that it may take years before the bar scene recovers.

Don't know where you all have been but this scam has been around forever in the bar scene, not only for cumalot but for many of the other bars in town and in kalihi. You also see this in the v bars.

Guess you live and learn, you have to get burned once before you wise up (not you but all us bar mongers). I think many of us have first time stories before we either woke up or learned from forums like this.

A month ago it came up that Julie mama owes a lot of money and is going through all kinds of legal issues. Not sure but think it was mentioned to that she bailed somewhere.

I think Casino and Butterfly had leases of something like $30k a month. That means a bar has to clear $1k a day just to pay lease rent. Look at the amount of customers those places had and I don't see them clearing that.

The property owners hui also has a loan on the property so they must also make their mortgage payments. The only kind of business that can pay that high rent is bars. With a liquor license sitting stagnant, no one is making money. What else are they going to do, turn the property into retail shops and pray the owner is able to make it in this bad economy? If they do that, I think the liquor license is gone for good as they are closer than 500 feet from each other and the neighborhood board will have a say in any new bar opening up requesting a license.

She was an "in-demand" mama because she treated her girls so well, and as a result they followed her when she moved and were loyal to her. I thought she was the nicest as well.

If this is the same mama (so pretty, pleasant, and relaxed, usually with glasses), what are your thoughts as to why it won't work were she to take over Maya's again?

I think Suji or the one that skipped town took over after she retired. As a bar location, it had its ups and downs last few years and even when Ann ran it wasnt all that busy then. I think the bar location and size are positives tho. Its between the Sheradon Makaloa bar hopping walk so location alone was attractive for customers. Maya did ok recenty there it seems but I think its a matter of splitting the bar girl pool of talent that will be the main determining factor. Its a matter of spitting the existing pie of available girls and I don't think both Evergreen and TTime location can co-exist as popular bars due the limited talent available. Thats my take on the situation anyway.

It's the BG and the three dozen swinging richards who are happy to buy her water all night. She doesn't NEED your business as much as you WANT her kitty.

Off and on, I see talk here about boycotting certain bars or BGs. Not going to happen. Too many little soldiers happily marching in, waving their Visa and MC cards, begging to surrender. Closest thing to the effect of the boycott is the current down economy. But even with the bar business being as slow as it is, the major effect I have seen is a disparity between the top-flight BGs and the also-rans and skanks.

On the low-end, you can get action from a less than visually desirable BG for a ridiculously low entry fee. (Pun intended.) On the high-end, the hotties seem to be commanding more and giving less than in years past. So your warfighting strategy is valid except for omitting that you will have to pick your fights a little better.

Does anyone have the 411 on a "Sunny" who works (worked?) at Butterfly? Korean, about 5'-6", decent looking, longish straight hair.

Not sure if she went to prison, but I think she split her time between Honolulu and Guam.

Ann in the past many years never made it as a mama, don't know about how good she was to the girls because I didn't see any quality girls working for her very long. Her bars were never that busy, she never kept the good customers that are needed to keep a bar open. Maya is probably the only mama I know that made that sheridan st location work, the rest only were there for a short period of time and the bars wasn't that busy and there weren't a lot of quality girls working. Whether the new bar owner makes it work depends on who the mama is, none of the recent mama's (julie, ann, suji, etc.) in the kapiolani area won't make it work for very long.

Clearing $1k a day is easy for a bar, the ones that don't are the ones that come and go. There are a lot of factors that we normally wouldn't see like the whole 14 hours the bar is open, inflation on drinks and food, and profits on vending machines. They all seem like small things, but if you add them all up I think we are in for a suprise.

Believe terms of her release included no ownership and / or involvement in any bar-related concerns. Don't let her demeanor fool you.

Off and on, I see talk here about boycotting certain bars or BGs. Not going to happen. Too many little soldiers happily marching in, waving their Visa and MC cards, begging to surrender. Closest thing to the effect of the boycott is the current down economy. A typical bottle holds about 30 shots, so figure that you're making at least $5 per shot or mixed drink. If you figure 2 bottles of shots / mixed drinks on a slow nite, that's another $300. Figure ATM fees, food, vending machines bring you about $100 profit. In a hostess bar, figure your profit on each ladies drink being about $3.50 per drink. If your girls sell 70 drinks, that's $245. Add them up and you've covered the $1K.

Now I'm kicking myself as I should have gone partners in that bar!

Never go partners with KBGs on anything involving money, legal (s) , any type of obligation (s). They'll cheat you out of money, leave you stranded with a debt, possibly ruining your reputation and / or credit. Even if seemingly legal, they'll skip town to find another host.
