People on a TJ board are claiming that it doesn't have anything to do with the government, which doesn't take power until November, but they have no explanation. It's not all clubs, but I don't know why HK would be any different than BT or LC (or CC or AB or.).
I'll be there next week, but I'm almost never in the bar that late so I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference. Will report back as I learn more.

I think it was 2011 when a masero was shot and killed inside HK. The club was closed for like a month. I also wonder if it's just a slow time for business and not worth being open at that time. Moe.
Honestly I would be surprised if they had many customers in there, if any at all, during that time period. Maybe on a Friday or Saturday night they may have people in there past 3 am, but not that much longer past 3 am. During the week, I would imagine it's pretty empty during that time. It could simply be a cost cutting thing they are doing. Why be open, and pay employees to work, when there's no customer's in there?

Like not a free table in the whole place. I think it was a weekend. As it was last night (Saturday) when I heard they'd be closing at 3 am that night. The girl I talked to claimed it was a new policy from the incoming president, but who knows.
Rumors are rampant, but the most common thought is that the outgoing government officials are using this time to "check permits," and take any bribes they can get before they are out of a job.

Most of my trips are on weekdays. Hope their closing time changes cause I'm going to be there in couple weeks.
This is NOT true. The law is clear that a US citizen does NOT need a passport to re-enter the country. You need to have one if traveling by air, but that's enforced by the airlines.
https://www.usa.gov/enter-us
"American citizens entering the USA Must show a valid passport, USA Passport card, Trusted Traveler Program card (NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry or FAST), or an enhanced driver's license. If you have any questions, contact your carrier to find out if they require a specific document."
Anyone else find this to be true? I still don't have a passport. I know. I know.
On a Friday or Saturday night, I can see people in HK (honestly only at the HK, and maybe Adelita) until 3-4 am, and the place starts to maybe empty out by 4-5 am. Maybe it's because I'm use to working "normal" hours, and find it hard to believe that anyplace like that can be that busy at those super late (or super early) hours of the day. During the week, I would find it less likely that they would be that busy during those hours. I could be very wrong in that assumption, and it sounds like I am. Although the weather is nicer, and it is summer time, so maybe they do get a busy extreme late night crowd. Either way, the change of the hours won't effect me. I'm passed out asleep 99% of the time by the time 1:30-2 am rolls around.
Anyone else find this to be true? I still don't have a passport. I know. I know.
It's not that you would have trouble getting back into the US, it's that you have to provide proper I'd entering Mexico now. At least that's the way the San ysidro crossing is. Some of the smaller crossings might be different. Moe.
Anyone else find this to be true? I still don't have a passport. I know. I know.
You should have a passport. Definitely, you should. However, I have personally taken dozens of people through with only a drivers license and birth certificate. When they return to the US they are often subject to secondary screening, during which time the Border Patrol agents have to verify citizenship. This can take some time, and they will lecture you on the need to carry a passport. But they cannot deny entry to a citizen of the US. They CAN make life really annoying for you if they want to, and make sure you miss your plane.
My people have the advantage of a valid medical reason to visit Tijuana, and it is in Mexico's interest to let them in. And the US Border Patrol tend to be understanding of medical patients. So, yes, my friends probably don't get the scrutiny that an obvious monger does. If the timing is right on your trip, you might want to say you were there for the cheap dentistry. Just not if you are entering at 6 pm on a Friday and returning at 3 am on Sunday.
But get a passport, dude.

Just to reply that actually if you have a Passport card you don't need to carry a regular passport when traveling to TJ.
I applied for the passport card last year when my regular passport needed to be renewed. It cost $40 on top of the regular fee to renew the passport.
It looks like a regular drivers license so it fits in any credit card slot in your wallet.
Highly recommended if you travel to Mexico.
Hope this clear things up.
Mondo.
Has anyone tried this agency? The fact that some of the ladies cross over to this side for appointments sounds great! Yeah I know it's a little bit more but the convenience factor is pretty cool. Their lineup online is great.
I know it's highly unlikely, but has anyone ever found any Asian girls, or half Asian / Latina girls, in TJ? I've seen a few white girls, and black girls down there offering services, but not a single Asian girl so far.
There's actually an interesting history as far as Asian Mexicans.

On a side note, years back I knew a stunningly beautiful woman who was half Chinese and half Mexican who wanted to be an actress.

Not sure if it's this one or another. I know it wasn't cumintj or mexicolindobar. I've used those agencies before. Definitely due your due diligence and report back if you partake. Moe.
