I think I know what you mean but could you go into further detail.

Problem with them is you have no idea if there is any worthwhile talent working until after you pay the cover; I have gone in at times where there was nothing to stay for. Unless there is a sign stating the price of a floor dance, dancers dance for tips and it is up to the girl if she wants to dance for you or will repeat. Ok, the going rate is $5 (I remember when it was $1 or $2, so ok I'm old) but some of the bars / girls are trying to get $10 per song post Covid. I accept the $5 going rate, and give $20 for two songs if the dance is really good, or $20 after 3 songs if not so good, and stick to the $5 per song for a bad or nothing special dance. Point is, it is up to me to determine whether I want to tip more, and I'm not willing to pay $10 for that nothing special dance. I was in a popular club this past weekend that I've been going to for years, and know well that the going rate there is still $5. So I get 3 mediocre dances and slip the girl a $20. She then says it is $10 per song and of course I object. She then asks the bar maid to intercede but the bar maid played it cool and was noncommittal, not wanting to offend either one of us. The dancer then says, well that was 5 songs when I knew damn well that it was only 3 (and so did the guy sitting next to me). I told her to get lost and she did. Like in a restaurant, tips are based on the service provided and as such should encourage good service. I will tip more when the service warrants it, but will decline the $10 dances unless I already familiar with the dancer and her talents.
I only tip $5. To get a $10 tip you better go above and beyond with a lot of stick shifting and a little two way. Some of these girls are crazy thinking they deserve $10 for less the a 4 minute song.
Some of the clubs have been dead. I'm hoping that DeWine cutting the unemployment bonus will help pick things up.
