Possible Rip-Off, or My Spider-Sense is Tingling
Folks:
I am planning to see two of my favorites (and reliables) when they are likely coming to town in a bit. Without naming names, I will say that their reputations precede them, and they are well known to senior members on this board. Senior members may DM for names, if necessary. However, something recently happened that is making me start to think with the big head, rather than the little head.
Recently, one of these favorites reached out to me to ask if I could front her my donation for seeing her in advance. Maybe things got overextended for her around the holidays, I'm not sure. This is the first time she (or either of them, tbh) have ever asked me for a deposit or any sort of early donation. Again their reputations are pretty well known, and to my understanding, they're both pretty well regarded. But something just sounds off here. I feel like I'm about to be ripped off.
Am I overreacting, or should I politely decline?
No deposits, no payment in advance

Am I overreacting, or should I politely decline?[/QUOTE]You're about to get ripped off. It doesn't matter how many times you've seen a provider, or how well known they are. If they ask for a deosit, or the cash up front, they're going to rip you off. Period.
