Looks like Troy police are staking out private residences. Be careful out there. I use to prefer private residences vs. Hotels, but now I'll be more cautious of both.

LEO would be able to get a warrant to search the house without much probable cause but to get that warrant based on someone who leaves and then commits a traffic violation. Seems a bit of a stretch even these days and in Troy.

Problem with visiting houses is that high volume is eventually going to bring complaints from neighbors. Same thing with apartment complexes. If two or three guys an hour are visiting the place it's going to be noticed without even trying. All LEO has to do is document the complaint and verify a little of the traffic in and out and the warrant is going to be given.

Green park in Chennai is where I stay when I go. I have been to India many times, this time I want to see what they have to offer. There is a nice bar in the hotel and I will surely give this a shot.

The next time I get a short stay I'll ask my boy who owns the notel, maybe he knows something.
