Your IP address is the only address they can track and if your behind a router using private address space, your router's public IP is all they see. And that can be blocked along with any device on your local network that tries to attach. If you're cellular only, the IP address changes ever couple of hours to a couple of days at most.

Thank you.[/QUOTE]At home your cell phone becomes just another device (PC, laptop, tablet, smart thermostat, etc.) behind your wireless router which has your single public address provided by your ISP. To the world, your devices look like they're all coming from your one public IP address. Technically they could block anything from that one address. Depending on how your ISP handles it, the public address may stay the same for a long long time or it may change every time the router is rebooted.

Just clone the mac address which will change the IP address. Also, Seeking could ban an IP range as well, not sure if they would do this as we know they love their $ and in doing the range block would keep out some other paying members. Some day we will get a definitive break down of how they find out a banned member is back. Could be as simple or geeky as their idiosyncratic style.

When you connect to a web site the response from that host / server responds to your IP address but the MAC address in the response is the next hop (router). This is how routers get the packet back to you.

With the previous experience from jb987 it would be worth rebooting your home router and see if you can get a different public IP address.

Of course there may be a cookie or hidden file that identifies you to Seeking.

Chat got odd a couple of times and it was like I was chatting with two different people. Had a meet & greet and spent some time with her one other time as well. She wanted to give private yoga lessons, but was open to more maybe. Eventually found out that I was dealing with two different people. She said her husband knew, had access to seeking and sometimes responded. Ended up passing. I don't really care if hubby knows as long as he's ok with it, but chatting with him pretending to be her didn't work for me. I remember others had similar experiences. Now she / they're back. Thanks to a tip I find out, she's created a persona of Evie Stone and is eviestone1990 on many social platforms. I think she's smoking hot but looking closer I think she's a single mom in a midlife crisis. They actualy resulted iin my being banned from SA about 5 years or so ago. They wanted to sell me vids of them going at it, and I responded "maybe", and SA banned me for using their site to sell commercial merchandise! I invited them to go back through the message thread and see who was trying to sell merchandise to whom, but SA had no interest in that. I finally got back on SA after writing a mea culpa email saying that I would adhere to their Terms of Service.

My being banned was nothing they intentionally did, of course -- but if they try to sell something to you, buyer beware!

Because it happens, even if you don't hear about it, there are constant attempts to hack accounts all day, everyday. So they are making you take one extra step to show it's not a BOT (computer robot) trying to get in.
