Good 'Ole Days No Moa
Same here. I shake my head at the condo that replaced the Makaloa strip.
Probably going get worse when the rail transit station near Ala Moana gets built, if no changes planned, for more development. I would not buy / invest in no condo development in the Keeaumoku / Sheridan / Makaloa areas given the amount of past, current and future development planning (as well as existing poor sewage pipeline / infrastructure). IMO, BTW.
That not going leave nothing but problems for businesses, no shit. Get enough kukai coming from the KBs, DKBGs, SBs and AMPs.

Old times
I don't remember $3 or $5 Lady drinks. Back then, probably mid 80's I was mostly going to the stripper bars and only tipping the strippers not buying drinks. But I think the first time I bought a Lady drink it was already $20. I groped her and maybe even got stink finger. I don't remember exactly where or the name, but it was somewhere around where aXtion video was. It was a stripper bar, but a non-stripper hostess lady took me to a booth and told me I could play with her if I bought her drinks. My memory is not so good, but I think the drinks were $20.
Any old timers here that remember $3. 00 nekohana water or tea, $5 for alcohol. Then there were $10 and $30 Cham and wine bottles. Free house puu, I used to go with $20 and go home with change. There must have been over 100 bars on Oahu from Wahiawa to Kaimuki.
The least expensive bottles of wine that I remember buying were $40. The impressive number of bars on Oahu with available women (at that time) was pleasantly surprising to me.
I drove into the old waterfall parking lot to check it out and drove right out. There was only 2 cars in the lot one pick up truck and a sedan. I heard it changed owner little while ago and wanted to check in out. Where did everyone go?
If you go in the afternoon there's a chubby but delightful Pinay MILF that plays for a price, Korean lady in her 50's that plays for a price and a Korean lady in her 60's-70's that's very not my type.

I remember.

Pupus were brought out that filled the table. We left a tip at the end based on the plates that came out.
But then again, gas was like. 63/ gallon, there were no cell phones, girls were friendlier.

There were also alot more Korean night clubs open till 4 am in Kalihi and Kapiolani. Alot of buildings aren't standing they got demolished and something else build in it's place. Kapiolani was changed the most even before the condo's were built. Walmart block (super block) that was bought by the big Japanese real estate firm lost millions and the condo's and businesses never happened and lot was vacant for over a decade. There were at least 9 or 10 bars, a Gas station, Diners, Rosies Diner, car repair shops, Apple Motor Racing, Kamaile Magazine, uniform company, dry cleaner, that plate lunch shop that moved to Liliha that piled the food on, Japanese night club with local and and Japan girls, Sushi bar and a night club. Crystal Palace was fairly new, the biggest and busiest bar in Honolulu. Kakaako had at least 7 bars, Kalihi had at least 3 night clubs and over 30 bars.
Suji at Green Tee.
Next.
Like I said, everyone and everywhere. Even newbies expect them. No point in making a list. It's everyone who can get away with them (which is everyone who lets them).
All the KBGs stay rippa artists given the opportunity. Nothing going happen anyway; got to make one serious commitment from the customers for teach them KBGs one lesson. I going participate in one boycott; one whole week (M-F, or beyond) if everybody like. Save money for the tariffs increases.
One week. Wow, you're tough. How about a month or even longer? Show them that they can't pull this off. I'm in for the long haul.
Same here. I shake my head at the condo that replaced the Makaloa strip.
Honestly, I'm glad it's gone. That place was a den of criminals (not including the places we knew). People got shot, ran over, and stabbed at that place.

Olden Days
Domestic beer at Happy Hour= $0. 75; regular $1. 00; nekohana=$2. 00; champagne (Lancers, haha)=$20.00; big time tip=$5. 00. KBGs used to make $200.00 per night with $2. 00 nekos and champagne; nowadays hard for make $60.00 per night even with $20.00-40.00 nekos.

I used to stomp through there amongst the drunks. Now Makaloa is so shady I don't even like driving through there.

I don't miss getting ripped off by Johnny at Saigon Passion or the many snakes that used to be at Evergreen. I do miss La Vie en Rose. That place was always good for take out action.
