They are looking for references from other providers that have seen you, this is very common, I'm surprised that you haven't run into it before.

Nope, no one really asked before. They want to know where they saw their ad and if I had seen them before. So of course, I can just look up some names on CL or ***** and mention them...

Yeah I had that issue come up on an ad I saw on another site. Of course I am considered a "newbie" over there, lol.
OK, saw her ad on CL and will probably just call her from that one. :D

"Please send me a PM with 2 references from this site and You will receive my number after there has been a set appointment."
Two references? What is this, a job interview? It is going to be really difficult for first-timers. How are you guys handling this? When you see a provider, do you ask them if you can use them as a reference?

I exchanged a bunch of PMs with a girl asking for references. After it seemed like I was clear, she said she'd need 2-3 hours to get ready. I don't understand why she would place an ad and then require 2-3 hours. I'm suspecting LE or ROB.
The reference issue is definitely becoming a problem on the SC_ASP website. My sense is that most of the chicks there are asking for them. I would say that between a third and a half of them actually check the references.
The way that I've dealt with the issue is to actually give references to some well known providers that I know are pretty lousy at returning calls, but who I have seen a while back. So far, I've actually gotten in to see most of the chicks I've tried to see using these references.
