Even forgoing that one, there is a mathematical mistake in step 5. The square root of something squared is the absolute value of the radicand, but that's not what we have here. We have the root first and the square outside that, so it's the radicand as long as the radicand is non-negative.
So a more mathematically precise proof would be to continue one step beyond what was done. Step 5 can say that women = problems as long as the problems are not negative.
Step 6 should be that since problems are usually negative, the square of (root problems) is essentially the empty or null set.
Therefore, rather than proving that women are problems, this argument shows that women are non-existent.
However, I would caution that when your proof contradicts what is known to be true, that there is probably something wrong with your proof.

He disagreed with former Senator and Presidential candidate John Edwards' assertion that homeless vets are homeless because of the economy. O'Reilly countered that many of the homeless vets are in their situation because of addictions and/or mental problems. And there are organizations and programs to help.
O'Reilly has backed up his claims interviewing representatives from veterans and homeless groups, something Edwards has never done. Unless you count snarky soundbites during rallies and appearances on Letterman.
Further, O'Reilly has been adamant on military affairs. He is one of the few in radio or TV that went to Guantanamo. And he's been to both Iraq and Afghanistan. If it sounds like I'm defending O'Reilly, you're right...I am. I'm a viewer of his program and occassional listener to the radio program. Above that, however, I respond to your (and Larks comments) because I believe in honesty, especially when it comes to the military. I'm a veteran, afterall. I've seen a lot of the problems plaguing some vets first-hand. It ain't because of the economy.

But in a feeble effort to save face, let me posture that "problems" are usually [i]real[/i]; if they're imagined, then they're not really problems. That is except for the EULA on software you buy where you agree to hold the developer harmless for all problems, real or perceived.
I say feeble effort because real numbers can be negative and that agrees with both my statements that problems are usually real and negative, so the square root of them would be imaginary, depending of course on what number system you're working in. Personally, I usually try to keep it [i]real[/i]. However, given the large number of people around here that write about a dream they had about having sex, I should have considered that many are living in the [i]complex[/i] world where [i]imaginary[/i] things rule the day and allowed for that option.

An impromptu news conference was held in front of the FOX News Channel Studios today because veterans were denied entrance as they attempted to deliver a petition to Bill O'Reilly asking him to apologize for his comments denying the existence and importance of homeless veterans. The ensuing drama resulted in FOX News executives, flanked by security and police officials, attempting to mollify the group of veterans and Executive Director Carol Gardener of Fitzgerald House - a group that assists veterans in need - by speaking briefly to the group. In addition, one of the producers of the O'Reilly Factor, Jesse Watters, challenged the vets by deflecting the comments away from O'Reilly's statements.

All joined in a team effort to rescue a young girl stuck in steel fence. It took several hours to extract her from her predicament.
Fire Chief Stiffie said, "This was a pretty tough rescue, it took us quite a while to come up with a plan to safely extract her from the fence." Although the girl's entrapment was never life threatening, it did take careful planning and gentle handling to safely remove her.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was examined and released.
This picture just about broke my heart! I just wanted to reach out and help her!

I have seen Jaws of Life used before on such circumstances (on the fence). Our neighbour used to get stuck like that every once and a while, but she was fortunate hers were small, and some Crisco oil would do the trick. You shoud see the poor chicks face when my dog would not stop barking at her boobs.
