If you liked Hou's, LS, and LP, you'll find everything your little heart desires at Adelita Bar and a few doors down at Hong Kong. If you don't speak at least some Spanish, I wouldn't recommend doing it solo until you've gone a few times and know the routine, what to expect, and what to avoid.

I pity the So Cal monger who does not take a mongering field trip to Tijuana. You're not likely to get peppered by drug cartel members spraying AK-47s, but you'll probably get scammed by a taxi driver or waiter until you've got your hard shell. Go and have a blast, just be careful.
