I know it doesn't make sense, but I always make sure the freebies are covered unless the owner is buying.

Most bartenders r allowed so many comps a night. U tip better they pocket more money. So why extra tip? Then it's like u didn't get anything anyway. Just asking. I appreciate hook ups. I've worked in the industry before and you always take care of people in the industry because it all comes around. I still get comped all over and I still tip big eventhough I'm out of the industry.

What I do and it's what other people in the industry think, is add up whatever drinks you get, freebies and pay and then tip accordingly. So you buy 2 beers ($10), but get comped 2 beers ($20 total), instead of 3-4 dollars, tip 6-8 (plus sometimes I'll add more for one drink they bought). Or if you can just buy them one drink. I figure you were gonna spend the money anyway, so what's an extra 5-10 bucks. They notice this and perks can be had, esp if it's crowded, there's nothing better then going up with a girl in a crowded line and the batrtender drops everything and focuses on you and no one else. Definately brownie points for the girl with you and the other honey's watching in line. Great icebreaker when you see a hot girl standing in line and you come to her rescue (ha) and get her drink quick. Trust me girls do notice this kind of stuff.

No, you understood what I wrote. The bartenders may be allowed xx freebies, but I don't want to be the one that they end up taking money out of their pocket to cover the drinks. It is not a really difficult job, but they do work hard for their money. The workers work and the owner makes money regardless. If the owner comps me, fine. If a worker comps me, I like to take care of them. I used to go out with a waitress and she'd drop $$$ in tips. We went to Ryans and the bill was $20 and she'd drop $40. I have never been in that industry, but from what I've seen, it is the norm.

Thanks for the post. I bartend off and on in different places. Somtimes I'm lucky to take home $50 a night in tips. Its funny how people in the service industry really take care others in the same industry. I've had bar girls, strippers, MP girls, and escorts leave really good tips. One Haole chick with big tits and showing a lot of skin gave me 20 one dollar bills for a tip for a check of $33 (she paid the check with dollar bills too). Other bartenders usually leave 50 to 100% of their bill for tip. Some bars and night clubs even have service industry nights (cheap booze and food, just show your yellow or blue card). Frankly I don't know how you left Ryan's with only a $20 tab (must be a few drinks only). When I leave Ryan's my bill is at least $40 for myself (food and drinks, not including the tip). TX.

Howzit gang, the other week as I was coming out of Camelot, I ran into a friend who had just come from secrets. He said that he was with a girl named sandy or something and that I should check it out. I was pretty buss already so I decided to go eat instead of spending more money on girls.
