Only way I know that is they have websites and if they did the deposit scam they'd really screw themselves because no one would want to see them. Ill pay a small deposit for a higher end provider that is well established. Most of the time, its a deposit for a first time visit then after that, they typically will not require a deposit. If I cannot verify through multiple channels the validity of a provider asking for a deposit, I will not be paying a deposit.

Falling for a deposit scam is one of the dumbest things a monger could do.
