Cruised the Fig a little bit, saw many uglies and few hot ones. Saw and dated Tasha at that library (Cuban and Black mix, too smart and beautiful for this shit, said she's staying LA for 2 wks and just needed some quick cash, glad to help her out & wish her the best). She said the same thing about shooting 100 in 100 days.
It can be dangerous, that is for sure. I've work in the area, and last year was shot at, and hit my drivers door while sitting at a stop sign on Van Ness and 76th. It scared the shit out of me, and was damn lucky it didn't kill me.
The shootings are very random, and happen when you least expect it, and you don't necessarily have to do anything but be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I think there was a shooting by Fig and 79th over the weekend, but the entire area from Century to Vernon, and Crenshaw to Fig is hot.
Just be alert.
Saw Taylor--she asked me for a date and said she wanted to get out of the sun. I said "hop in and we can talk" and once she was in the car recognized her--I had a bad date with her about a year ago (breach of contract! She agreed to let me DATY and then reneged), and so I told her would take her number and pulled over to let her out. She became irate, and began a long monologue about how I was always playing with her and wasting her time. To be fair, I've seen her out several times, talked to her, but then recognized her and driven away. So I told her I'd give her a little for her time, and after some arguing back and forth (she wanted to wait in my car while I went into a store to get some change--I didn't think that was a good idea), she called someone and started complaining about "this guy playing with me. " We got out, I got some change and gave her a five. She wasn't happy, and threatened to bust my windshield unless I gave her more. I didn't think her capable of this, but wanting this little episode to end, I gave her another ten, and this mollified her. I'm hoping I will recognize her in the future--she starts out with a great attitude and then things deteriorate quickly.
