SB comes and goes (ahem, no pun intended). After a few months of nothing it'll perk back up again, and then it'll drop off.
I noticed several months to a year ago (I have a report here) the point where SB really jumped the shark and never quite recovered. Just south of the pharmacy, on Vose or whatever it is, there were half a dozen girls, and like 50 cars lined up like it was a McDonalds drive through. Totally, completely *not* subtle at all. A lot of the cruisers on SB have no subtlety at all and when it starts drawing attention and generates traffic hazards, the cops crack down, and the girls go away.
The gas prices are pretty significant too, but in the end, what kills it for me, is the mechanical nature of it. At least, for most of my AMP experiences, the woman makes some kind of effort to be personable. I'm not expecting GFE, but when you drop 40-100 bucks on something that is one step up from just going home and jerking off to free internet porn, it's hard to keep going out there. I want at least a smidge of personality, or some good looks to help me bust a nut.
That being said, CL, while cool, can get horribly overpriced. I've seen women asking for 3 bills that I'd have trouble justifying buying a drink for in a bar. For all I know they may be great in the sack, but looking like that, I might as well go troll in a bar and pick up a FFF (Fat, Fugly Five) for the price of two or three drinks and a pack of twinkies.
The thrill of the chase is great and all, but good grief, even I have my standards.
CL is a godsend though when it comes to traveling on business. I've had some fun times in cities abroad.

GFE was a normal thing 10 yrs ago for .40 girls and they were nice and friendly not a mechanical service and repeats were always possible.
Today most girls are sucking the blood out of you and the service is bad to horrible.

I mostly prefer the LSW or WSWs and Lankershim seems to have the ones I like. It's just my preference. I'm not saying to waste a tank of gas and rumble through here, but it is worth a try.
