When anything happens off script it is time to get out of there. There is no time for an explanation. Too often the first surprise is quickly followed by another that's worse.

We don't think clearly when surprised. We rationalize to fit our expectation that we're still going to get laid. The closer we are to the blessed event when the surprise happens the weaker we are, the more dangerous it is.
