NB would never be the same as EG. Two reasons. First of all they don't have the girls. EG with around 15-20 girls on any given nights in its hay days. NB don't even have half of EG had. Secondly EG closes at 4, while NB's drinkers clearing out at 1. 30.
BTW, did not see any new faces at NB. Most of the girls they have now is from Ashley, Camelot and near by bars. 3 month wonder and mainland pipeline has stopped. So all you going to see is same old, same old.
New Business should be renamed "New Evergreen. " It is what is expected of having "the same ole thing. " Bartenders Sunshine and Angela do not make for hospitality especially if they eating lunch as soon as the place opens; service sucks when both are eating their meal (why they got to eat together instead of taking turns (while leaving the bar unattended) is typical of menopausal KBGs). After they pau eating, then they get into place and try work with unenthusiastic attitudes (got to get the motor running).
Awhile after lunch, they start working and service is OK; pupus are offered, service for drinks is evident. The same LVBs from Evergreen were there with a couple of other brothers who took the time to come and see. Although my stay was brief, it is the same as old Evergreen and nothing new, better, or promising are going to happen soon. The only interesting thing that customers were commenting about was (1) filling the backdrop space between the two flat screens at the bar counter; (2) how sad it is when KBGs become menopausal and how quickly they go downhill; moreso than males.
Anyway, in all fairness to the KB and KBGs, New Business Evergreen will probably survive only because it will soon be the only game in town (Hot Spot, Ginza, Twilight, Lotus soon to be pau in September / October). Don't go when the KBGs are eating lunch because it's their time, not yours.
After late September / early October the only major Kapiolani KBs standing will be NBiz, Ashley, Splash; displaced KBs Twilight, Hot Spot, Lotus are currently seeking replacement venues. If the KBs have a good product, then they don't have to stay in Kapiolani proper. But the KBG mindset is too narrow. They're unable to think out-of-the-box and realize that if you have that "good product," the customas will come, regardless of the location.
But this was in their glorious past and don't know if any KB operator could pull it off at this time because KBs were the one-stop shop of the past; now, get too many other monkey businesses after the piece of the same pie.

Yeah, 3 main town bars left come soon, I take that back. Heard Ashley looking for buyer, so far no takers.
NB lot isn't too safe either, they are on the development list along with Ashley. Camelot and Splash probably are only bars left when it is all said and done.
Just saw a girl I know in Waikiki working 9-5 at Duty Free. One girl got married. Another one moved to Maui. Two girls I know at Camelot went back to the mainland.
They used to call me honey and text me all the time when I buy them drinks. Now I receive no text from them after they gone of bar business. I deleted all of them numbers. Save money anyway, haha.

Nowadays no area is safe from development / redevelopment / turnarounds / turnovers; cash from projects needed for payments and financing; slow KBs no more supportive income as in the past. Word is that Ashley, Camelot, and Splash all very slow and that guys don't know how they can stay open (if not for the machines, I guess).
Probably going get more major KBGs exits from the KBs soon. They da very ones who when kill the goose, anyway. Take it easy.

When there is game room around, there got to be troubles. That is why the neighborhood try chase all of these establishment out of the area. That includes all of these bars around. Went to NB during the day the other day. All I got to look at was the large fish tank with beautiful fishes swimming around. Booo.

Late reports
Last week went out on 4th of July after the usual bbq thing. Only bothered to go NB but noticed Ashley and lot of the non kB bars were closed. Considering it was 4th of July, NB wasn't too bad. I think it would be expected everywhere would be dead that night. So I was quite shocked they had a respectable amount of people and girls that day. Although I did hear prior to the fireworks it was ghost town. This past Wednesday I checked out splash. Wasn't bad at all considering it was a Wednesday. Seemed like they reloaded a few women too. I don't know if they're truly fresh faces or just transfers from kalihi as I do mean they were WOMEN. Headed over to NB after and it also wasn't bad. Bars and booths were roughly 70% filled then down to about 40% come closing time. All things considered, that's pretty good if that's how it is for them on the off days of the week. In the coming weeks I'll see how things are on Sunday-Tuesday. As those are the hell days for bars business wise.

Visited NB during the day and need more day time action. If it is going to survive the night rent. Ashley was sadly dead this past Friday.
They did kill the goose. What about XO? They still open.
XO is now Lotus; they (the whole complex of small businesses in dea, including Gion, Hot Spot, and Twilight) going be gone soon; end-of-month or thereabouts. As previously mentioned, the major KBs (Splash, Camelot, Ashley, New Business) are not faring too well. The Golden Goose is now shitting rocks.

All the "grandpas" who spend their "$20 everyday" bettah than the ones who shoot their load only once in awhile or give up for months. Survival is all them dayshift guys who go everyday and rescue the payment of monthly rent, add to the amount of liquor during deliveries, and pump the machines. Old guys buy nekos too, you know. Take it easy in this heat.

It is a norm town princesses no come work till 8 or 9. Lots of these princesses have day job now so it is understandable they come work late. The other ones stay at the golf courses.
Ashley is so dead now I don't know how long more they are going to stay open. Try go NB after 9 or you will just bore to death.
Football season open in August, so don't expect business going to pick up anytime soon.

Thru the KBG wireless, there was a raid at NB last week Thursday. Can anyone confirm?

Know Nothint About it
Thru the KBG wireless, there was a raid at NB last week Thursday. Can anyone confirm?
Was just there earlier this week and heard nothing about it, seemed like business as usual and everything looked fine. I'm sure the term raid was being used very loosely. Inspectors can show up anytime, anywhere for any business so I wouldn't really count that as a raid. If it was a real raid, chances are shit would've been broken. But everything looked normal this week.
