It is going to come down to. As older generation moving on, younger drinkers stay in bars where they can chat with pretty women and able to hunt for some free pussy. No need to deal with $20 buy me drinkies and put up all these BS.

KBs era are dying, have you seen any big sharks spending $500 a night at KBs anymore? They have wised up or dried up. Many of these low budget drinkers still around, one or two beer they are out the door, KBGs are sure not making any money from them.

I'd go if there was a KBG like the old Yokohama. The KBGs need to realize that as more and more of the old-time LVBs are getting too old to visit the KBs that they can't get away with playing the same games with the later generations. The later generations have a better sense of value and see the KBGs as they really are. The advent of easily accessible play through AMPs and escorts with online information took away a primary reason for guys going to KBs for play. When I used to go to the KB's it would be with the intent to get into a KBG's pants and most likely after spending a lot of money and time (with no guarantee too). I mean who has the money to waste just to sit and talk to a KBG over $20 or $40 drinks every 10 minutes and whose only loyalty is to money.

Not saying it's impossible, but as of now lot of businesses outside of the kb are even hesitant. D&B pulled out and they only got one other location on the island. Basically we going have to see another Waikiki open up out west before we can see any signs of the bar industry prospering out there.

Michelle's was a hot mess of constant fights and problems also. Disagree that the cover was what led to their demise.

Many have passed on, others have health issues, or are incapacitated, so they do not come out. Some like myself are tired of the BS, and find it quite boring. It is more enjoyable to talk to the bartender or bar backs, than the hostesses. I fear this may actually be the death knell to the bars. I've been through the phase of Vietnamese bars and kiddie bars and the KBs survived. The proliferation of AMPs in the 90's and up to now, have taken their toll on the KBs, but they still survived. There is no new generation that will take over. Nowdays, going out is a group activity, not necessarily a one on one experience. The money to be had from building luxury condos is the final blow. Knock down KBs and put up a condo, easy money!

I wish I could remember what movie or TV show I heard that from. But I think it was a cop (could have even been the crook) talking to his partner about a crime scene frustrated and complaining that people don't know their jobs anymore. Implying that when you rob somebody, you rob them. You don't kill them.

I wish I could remember the movie and how the scene went. But that's what I remember about it, and that's how I feel about the KB's.

The girls just don't know their jobs anymore. Yeah we go to the KB's to drink and the food. But we also want a little thrill and a little grab-ass (and hopefully more) too. It seems most of the wahines in the bar have forgotten that part. I hate it when the wahines get all offended when you try to get a little touchy feely. Hey that's what I'm paying $20 for a drink for. Not just the "privilege" of talking to you.

One night I was sitting at the bar, saw this old man tried to do some touchie touchie at the booth to this young princess. He got slapped so hard by her. He wanted to cry by his expression on his face. He got up and left without saying a word.

.[/QUOTE]Maybe a little grab ass, but it should be mutually agreed upon. In this day and age of #METOO, you need to be careful. There are those that allow that kind of play, and there are those that do not. If you want play, you need to choose wisely. The girls are hostesses, not prostitutes.

But the beer prices have gone up and the bars are getting torn down. These are dive bars, they need low-rent spaces, they don't fit in classy environments. By the time I started going to the K-bars, many of the ladies were already leaving the business.

You knew this day was coming.

Checked out Mimi's new place Friday. Place has a huge makeover, there's 2 bars similar to how splash is. There's also a sushi bar spot for Mori san. As a result of the extra bar, there's little less booths. I believe the kitchen also got little smaller because of the bathroom renovations. I went considerably late but place was still pretty busy. The bars were full, with a few booths open. Barbacks had to step away though to help with waiting duties. Roughly all the girls and staff and then some with Mimi back at Camelot were there. Supposedly she has a staff total of 40 people. Only other bar I got to hit up that night was Ashley, and they really took a hit. Only about 6 girls were left there and many open booths. Anyway, to my understanding this week was only a soft opening and the grand has yet tba. Still a 2 am bar though, which really doesn't help the industry much. But at least we have one more option now with girls on the younger side.
