As a fellow photographer, I feel your pain. I had a similar thing happen to me back a few years ago. Luckily in my situation, it was an older camera that I was planning on replacing soon anyway. But it still hurt.

Chances are your stuff was gone 20 minutes after she took off with it. Probably ran straight to the nearest dealer and traded it for about 25% of what it was worth. If you're lucky it ended up in a pawn shop. If you're really lucky, you recorded the serial numbers. Report it stolen to the police, and you may have a chance of getting it back. I wouldn't suggest telling them the whole story though. Just say you left it on the back seat of your car, and you must have accidentally left the doors unlocked.

If you want to PM me model numbers and specifics, I have a friend who knows a couple people in the area who may have ended up with it. You'll probably have to pay to get it back if they have it though.
