Another reason why you see less 90 day wonders is, some of these 90 day wonders are over staying, they are afraid of getting caught. Under President Trump new imagration policy. They are hunting down the over staying people, deporting them when they are in custody and never be allowed to re-entry in the US thereafter.
The 90 day wonders have also dried up because ICE has turned many away upon landing at HNL. Extensive searches of their personal items have revealed some names, numbers, addresses. That LEOs have followed up on.
Real reasoning
That sucks! ICE should be going after violent criminals or people with criminal records that are getting into this country. The KB sounds like they are really shitty. How are we supposed to have fun these days? It seems like KB will eventually all disappear, or eventually everyone working in KB will be all grandmas. There are people who are more deserving who should be deported or turned away at customs and immigration. The situation really makes me mad.
IMO the real reason it's all not the same anymore is the lack of talented mamas and what they are offering these girls. The bars have been slowly going downhill for years now. The torch has been passed to the bgs that were big years ago and well they just let the industry run dry. Mimi is still around somewhat, but even during her casino days she would have her off and on seasons. Difference was back then there were other competition to motivate her and keep the industry healthy. Today, well we should be thankful at least splash somewhat resembles what a bar then use to look like.

I know of a few 893's that were turned away at HNL and LAX.

Have fun guys!!
I don't doubt that. Some of those bartenders have been around a long time, so they know the business and see the changes. Just a few years ago remember how hard it was to get parking around the town KBs or even get a seat inside Evergreen late on a weekend? How often do you see a SRO KB nowadays with far fewer options? Lots of customers are having fun and sometimes even relocating to places like the Philippines or Thailand. After you see how those ladies make a living, you will truly understand why the word "Princess" is spot on.
I talked to a bartender at splash a while ago and he told me the Mama's try to teach the girls but they no listen. They all think they are Princesses. Have fun guys!!
No more the old school KB respect for anybody or anything; nowadays KBGs are independent contractor-type hunters with no rules. As WFL previously commented, the new generation of KB owners no run the business with one iron fist like before; they don't know how to run one KB business in all aspects except for pull the money tree out by the roots; no sustainability in the business, customers, KBGs, whatevers; just grab-and-go and let the ship sink. No can talk sense to one rock anyway.

Have fun guys!!
Yeah that's pretty much how things have been going for the past 10 years or so now. Unfortunately too those princesses you referring to are also the ones becoming mamas now. About 8 years or so ago I talked to a former long time bg / bartender, who amazingly is living a happy honest life now. I asked her if she ever desired to work again. She said a little, she wouldn't mind part time bartending again because she sometimes misses the atmosphere and the customers. But the business and girls just changed for the worst too much. Might I remind this was 8 years ago too, so things are much worse now. I've also somewhat recently talked to a few current girls about the business. Quite a few of them have heard about the legendary Patty mama. Would be very interesting to see how Patty would handle things today. Unfortunately I think she is retired for good this time.

1. Underestimated how hard they would have to work. Most get no days off and they have to cover kitchen mama and bartenders on sick calls etc.
2. They know have the pressure of paying all the bills!
3. Constant girl drama! Running the place with an iron fist nowadays makes you lose girls to a competitor. Newer popular girls have no loyalty except to their own wallet. They don't want to be told anything and throw a hissy fit and threaten to quit if they don't get their way. K (the fox) is an example of one who brings money in but is a nightmare to try and manage as a Mama. She's hopping bars for a reason and it's usually because a mama said enough of this bullshit LOL.
They think it's prestigious but haven't really thought it through clearly.

There is one mama I would give her credit of trying hard. But the result is still the same, not much happening. TC mama went throght 3 names, Butterfly, Summit and Chill, from hossess bar to local bar and sports bar, and I don't know what it is now. Anyway it looks like she is going to stand her ground to finish her career as mama where she is at now.

I believe Mimi was the one who renovated the place to a bigger size and made it butterfly because she didn't want to stay at the old centerfolds spot. Can't remember though as that was so long ago. But I know the mama after her who kept the name for some time, was a real nightmare from what I heard. I assuming when it changed to summit that was another ownership change.

Changing Landscape
Every girl I know that became a Mama has regretted it and here's why. They think it's prestigious but haven't really thought it through clearly.
That's why a few KBG-types are looking for other options to generate income (besides the KB) because it ain't working 'drinking for a living. ' They are bold ones (all-in) opening small restaurants, shops, different 'occupations', whatever. So you LVBs out there better get ready to spend some mean cash layout amounts to support your DKBGs in their business ventures.

Or like a athlete who thinks he ready to be the future of the team but then realized it's going to take way more than just his talent to lead the franchise to prominence (sorry lebron lovers LOL). Joking aside, that's just how the generations are becoming. Nobody knows how to think anymore.
