Yeah there's down and outers in the area but they are overwhelmed with tourists and an overwhelming ratio in favor of law abiding residents to street threats. Union Station is an oasis itself and right across from the tourist crammed El Pueblo de Los Angeles / Olvera Street Complex, the famous Phillipe's restaurant which too much humanity from all over L. A. Flocks to every day for their overrated Au Jus sandwiches in an historic setting (they sure are cheap though). Chinatown is a few blocks away and so is the main L. A. Police HQ, Disney Hall, downtown hipster hangouts, et al.

The bad news for WarTide is that this is not an area with any worthwhile MPs at all. The closest MPs are not exactly bad, but not what you state you're looking for. There are decent rub and tug only MPs with older Chinese providers on the edge of downtown on Sunset and on Broadway in Lincoln Heights which is a healthy hike beyond where Broadway is the main street of Chinatown. I think you'll have to either call for home delivery wherever you're staying or rent a car before the weekend comes. LA's reputation for not being walking distance friendly is never truer than when it comes to MPs convenient to downtown. Right now there just are no MPs in easy walking distance from downtown. We receive this question all the time on this forum from mongers visiting the city on business and staying downtown.
