Just a quick question for those who've experienced this before.
A couple of providers I've reached out to in the recent past have requested I use my donation to rent a room for them (which they would then use for the rest of the day). What's your take on this? One of the benefits of backpage, etc. Is the relative anonymity that comes with them. In the case of renting a room for a provider, however, I'd have to attach my card to the room for the day, and my name to any circumstances that may arise in said room, even though I'm no longer there. And, while I realize I may just be a bit paranoid, I've heard some disconcerting stories from the more chatty providers out there.
For those reasons I've opted out when requested (and not offered an alternative). What do you guys think?

[/QUOTE]Throughout the many years I've been in this hobby, across at least half-a-dozen review boards and in many different states, the ONLY tales I've read about hobbyists renting room for a provider on their own creditcards were tales of WOE.
The only version of that scenario I have done (or ever would do) is where we meet outside the hotel and I give her a portion of the donation so SHE can go inside and rent the room in HER name. Even then she could always go out the back door and hop into a waiting car, although that has never happened to me (yet). But if something like that DOES happen you're only out a few bucks. Somebody trashes a room rented in your name, you're going to feel THAT fuck up in a serious way.

Someone stealing the TV is actually on the lighter side of the possibilities. What if the provider hooks up with Uncle LEO? What if they use it for a drug deal or such? What about when they get busted and claim the renter of the room FORCED them into business? What about when a jealous other-half shows up? What about when some Robert Hansen type shows up? The whole situation could get really, really ugly.

I was able to use hotel points, best redemption value ever! But you still have to put down a credit card for incidentals at any legitimate hotel. And as mentioned, amything gets broken or stolen it comes back on you. But what scares me more is if something more nefarious or criminal were to happen, then you're involved too.
So as a general rule, I woiodnt recommend it. But as always, risk <= reward.

They want to see if you will be their white knight. Don't EVER be a white knight to a woman. See them on your own terms. Just like in normal life, you give a little, they will take a lot. And as others said, there are a ton of other potential issues that could really screw you over.
Don't let crying, pleading, or lame stories about how they really need your help right now change your mind. It is womens nature. If they are a provider worth their salt, you won't need to help them pay for a room, anyways.
